Dr. Zaharia has been my physician for approximately 20 years. I am grateful for her care: from careful listening to my problems, continuing with a very thorough examination, lengthy discussion about her findings and answering all my questions, my visits with Dr. Zaharia are always enlightening and also reassuring. She motivates me to do better while instilling a pleasant calming feeling and the determination to do better. She values my questions and she explain thoroughly her care. She values my privacy (physically and medically) and she never puts me in an uncomfortable environment. But most of all she values me as a person: when she is with me, I have her full attention. She is kind, and highly knowledgeable and empathetic. She is the best doctor I have ever been to. The highest recommendation you can give a doctor is whether you will have your family treated by this doctor. Dr. Zaharia is my daughter’s doctor too! And, she will continue to be our doctor!!!

First and foremost if I could rate a zero, that would be my rating. The experience that I have had with Dr. Zaharia and her practice is ridiculous and unfathomable .
Where do I begin;
1. They told me that my wellness check up had to be split up into two visits and when I inquired why I was told this is how it went (this sounded strange to me but hey I figured each doctors office is different but I still felt uneasy.) I followed up with my insurance and they said that as long as the procedure and blood work was filed as preventative then it would be covered. Before seeing the doctor for the second time, i confirmed with the receptionist desk that this was preventative work and they did confirm that it was. Of course that was a lie because now I am receiving bills from everyone possible. I felt that this was a lie to get more money and I should have went with my gut. Dr. Zaharia is not for the patients but for her own bank account.
2. I am told to go into an exam room and remove my shirt with the window that faces baruch college wide open and I am the one that has to ask for her to close the window and she seemed surprised by this, saying that usually only her older patients ask for this ( as though younger people don't want privacy).
3. My second visit they place me in a room with another patient to do the second part of my blood work, then i am escorted to a private exam room. I am told to get into a gown and while the doctor is examining me (gown is off) an employee just walks in with out knocking and opens the door wide).

This is the most unprofessional doctor and practice. Do yourself a favor and run away if you are possibly looking into going to visit this doctor.

Wonderful, caring, compassionate doctor - she takes her time with her patients and helps you feel at ease with her professional yet down-to-earth demeanor and cheerful disposition. She is a doctor who makes you feel like you're in good hands - knows her stuff, is direct, crisp and smart without being too clinical or aloof. I have had nothing but the best treatment both from her and her staff - they make me feel better when I'm sick, and I'm so grateful to her for going above and beyond what a doctor "is supposed to" do. She is a healer, not just an MD, and she always lifts my spirits, no matter what's going on with my health. I have and continue to trust her completely with my life - she knows what she's doing, and I'm LIVING proof!

I think I wouldn't have a problem with this doctor is the Waite always more then an hour, on my first visit I waited and hour and half and on my second visit I waited two hours to be seen and once inside the room I had to wait another 40mins For her to actually give me her full attention, I mean whats the point of making an appointment ? I also didn't like that her staff dosent give no appointment reminders like a card or phone call, I was also wondering why this doctor is so quick to give everyone a b12 shot on every visit in starting to think this is just a way For her to make money, I just hope nothing bad happens with so much b12 I heard of a patient who actually got really sick from so many injections of b12.

dr. zaharia has been my primary care physician for over a decade, ever since i moved to nyc just under 11 years ago. she has helped me out so much over the years, it is hard to try to think of exactly what to start writing about. there are so many things. i have had nothing but wonderful experiences with dr. z, and this is due to her caring, thorough, and kind treatment of myself and all of her patients. she genuinely cares about people, and this is quite obvious in everything she does - from the amount of individual time and attention she gives each and every visit when treating each and every one of us, to her reassuring and positive "bedside manner" and how she just makes you feel like you are somebody instead of "just another patient". as a person of size, dr. zaharia's kindness and high level of expertise and professionalism are a welcome change and contrast to the sometimes cold, sterile and often judgmental new york urban landscape / the medical landscape at large.

Dr. Zaharia is the best. Simply put. Very knowledgeable, she has lead me through a lot in these past 7 years - from general check-ups to a few more serious ailments / matters, she is always compassionate, extremely professional and just an amazing all around human being. I give her 5 stars, the best rating for her dedication, tenacity, and kindness. A doctor that actually takes the time to listen to you and discuss / answer questions / talk about life in general is extremely rare, especially in New York City. Dr. Zaharia is all of these things and much, much more. One of my favorite things about her is how she administers vaccinations or "shots" - she sort of gives you a quick "bump" on the arm before poking you - and it makes it not hurt at all! I know this is just a very small thing, but it's so cool, and just another example of her expertise. As my mom always says: "it's the little things that truly count". From little things all the way up, Dr. Zaharia has you covered. A++
