Ive been very pleased with the experience I’ve had with dr. Hassard, super nice, friendly, and cares about his patients. He’s a god sent who saved me twice now and I can’t be any more thankful! He’s a amazing doctor and I’m glad I got to meet him :)

Many of my friends have been to him- they said he would be great for anyone with EDS- granted my experience was a few years ago, but he gave me no answers. An environmental doctor found parasites he missed, but after that I started vomiting all the time and still do to this day. I’m tired of doctors that leave patients with invisible illnesses or illnesses that aren’t easy to diagnose in the cold. It’s sad to see so many losing out on their lives because a doctor can’t hear them properly. I hope he is better for the others with EDS-

Maybe it depends on the day- but the guy left me worse off and didn’t listen to me at all. I wanted to have a good experience as some of my friends told me how he listened and was great, but he cared more about my eyes than my gut it seem.

After a few appts with this doctor, and him not knowing me at all, he listened to an EX that I was trying to break free from that I had an eating disorder or mental illness above having the condition I Do have. I had to make trips as far as Hamilton and Calgary to confirm my diagnosis thanks to his decision to listen to an EX BOYFRIEND over even speaking with me.
He showed clear bias to believe an EX that was harassing me over me, the patient. He purposely made a comment about a cyst being “huge” while I was under the effect of drugs, so I agreed and listened to him and went home incredibly concerned, and it took a month before a doctor could correct this with me. Thanks to him listening to my EX it let to a major decline in my health and I nearly died before they identified the issue, having lost a ridiculous amount of weight and becoming so malnourished that I had sepsis 4 times in five months. Kuddos, Hassard, for listening to a man a woman broke up with over her, your patient.

After being transferred to Dr. Hassard when my previous gastroenterologist retired, I didn’t hear from him for a year. No follow up. No blood work during my Remicade infusions. I called to make an appointment because my health had been declining. Finally got in to see him and he joked the whole time. I didn’t feel that he was really listening, just too busy trying to be funny. While I appreciate a doctor with a good sense of humour, his jokes were tasteless, asking if my husband and I were in an open relationship. ??? And then was asking about my pregnancies and said my third child must have been a mistake. I thought am I at a gastroenterologist’s or a gynaecologist? I’m now seeing a different doctor at a different hospital and am so relieved and finally feel like I’m in good hands.

Short but great interaction. Took a look in my throat and make a good joke about the ‘happy juice’ anesthetic. Explained the aftercare and answered any relevant questions.
