Dr. Fluker is knowledgeable and can be charming sometimes, but when things go awry (as they often do with fertility treatment), she handles it really really poorly. For someone who's been doing this infertility stuff as long as she has, her bedside manner could really use some lessons.

Unless you have an infertility issue and have gone through associated agonies, you won't be able to appreciate her to the full extent. Infertility really affected my life and Dr. Fluker is the one , at the end, turned my life around. Everything else in the world, you can control and succeed but not fertility. I've gone through medical trainings myself and have met and dealt with a lot of clinician. Amongst all, Dr. Fluker is the one that always keeps smiling face and encourages you! Everytime i had to go to Genesis for procedure... imagine how nerve wracking it is.. her few words and smiles always did soothe me and my husband. I agree in the fact that i might have been sold to an additional ICSI for $1500, but at the end of the day, after three IVF trials, i am pregnant and all the credit goes to her and the staff. She did help me get me and my husband long waited baby, and that's her job description and she is good at it. Dr. Fluker and her staff are amazing.

I had a disappointing experience with this doctor and the clinic. It was difficult to get the results from the clinic to begin with. Then when we were told our only hope of getting pregnant was through ICSI I found her very unsympathetic at my very fresh diagnosis. Instead of fielding my questions around other options, she responded in an offended manner, as if I was challenging her. To top it off she answered her phone right after I had asked another question, and said "yeah, I'm almost done"- how rude! It was at that point me and my husband were "done" with her. I agree with the below comments that it felt like she was trying to sell a service. BTW I went to the UBC fert clinic for a second opinion- they recommended further trials of Clomid and with better timing...and 3 cycles later I became pregnant. I later had a second child with no fertility help at all....go figure...after being told that "99% chance you won't get pregnant without ICSI".

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Fluker for a number of years and found her to be a very knowledgable and thorough physician. She answered all our questions, was very compassionate, and we did not feel rushed. I had to be seen at Women's hospital and she had taken the time to discuss my situation with the other doctors. I had read the previous comment about her not liking Asians...that is false. My husband and I are both Asian and have never felt discriminated against. I do recommend Dr. Fluker to anyone seeking help with their infertility.

I work in a hospital and I've heard that she is the one that other doctors go to when they are haveing trouble getting pregnant. Now I know why. Great bedside manner. Clear layout of options to help us with our decision-making. Great staff, too.

Wonderful doctor with a great bedside manner. Quite perplexed how others did not perceive this. In our case we only had one option in order to concieve and Dr. Fluker was incredibly forth coming with all the information. Yes, she is very scientific in her approach but she is a specialist not your GP. It is her job to give you the options and her professional opinion on your best odds. Her staff are just incredible (Wendy Baker, RN - inparticular)and thanks to them and Dr. Fluker, we have had two successfull pregnancies and two very healthy and happy boys.

Definitely knows her stuff and had friendly, upbeat bedside manner. Did feel a little rushed through procedure but overall think she's good.

Poor bedside manner. Knows her stuff but given the sensitive nature of the work, a bad experience. I ahve had better experiences in Vancouver at another clinic

Vary compassionate. We met her for the first time when my wife had another miscarriage. We've been through this twice before at other hospitals, but this was the first time that we had such good explanations and someone who really seemed to understand what was happenind to us. It makes a huge difference to have her explain the results while she did the ultrasound rather than waiting in agony to go back to your other doctors office to finally hear the results. She and her nurse were both very patient and gentle.

She helped me get pregnant with my first baby 2 years ago on clomid. I'm back again for another try. She's great. She showed me that I wasn't ovulating and taught me how to do temp charting to tell that I ovulated on Clomid. She's very down to earth and practical.
