Bad experience. She was not impartial, blaming my sons weight loss on his dayhome. She was proven wrong when I showed her the review flowsheets with week by week comparisons and I also got a second and third opinion. Her negligence caused a long battle with social services and even when he wasn’t in my care for a period of time he continued to lose weight and she has no answers for this but suddenly she isn’t concerned anymore.

Mel is 100% The best doctor! She is 100% knowable on Down syndrome but also heart conditions, and any other health issues. She goes above and beyond for her families. I wish she could be my own doctor. I wish there were more doctors out there like her. If you have the opportunity to see her, you will be one of the lucky families. Thank you for all you do Mel!

I can’t say enough amazing things about Dr Lewis…. She’s very accessible, easy to talk too and she listens to all our concerns. Some of my kids are transitioning away from pediatrician and we have to look forward a new GP. Sure wish we could keep Mel as their primary care Physician forever!

Dr. Lewis and Gayle are the dream team at the Down Syndrome Clinic at the Stollery. I will never forget my first appointment - they took as much time treating the parent as they did the patient. You would be hard pressed to find a Dr. as compassionate, funny, down-to-earth, and caring as Dr. Lewis. She's the real deal and it makes me happy when she's educating new up-and-coming doctors because if even an ounce of her awesomeness rubs off on them, they will be great doctors also.
