Staff was extremely helpful. Saw the doctor about 5 minutes after been taken to the room. Called back right at appointment time. Dr Shessel pleasant and answered all of my questions. Would recommend him and see him again if needed.

The "nurse" who brought me to see the doctor joked about my penis size after I mistook a small blue coated pad for a blue garment. I was appalled by her crudeness and all-around carefree casual attitude. As for Dr. Shessel, I will repeat what others have said. In two visits, he twice gave me the sense he needed to quickly leave. People who see this man have more questions than answers because he talks in a superficially pleasant but overall terse and robotic manner. He's like a talking version of a WebMD overview for whatever your condition might be. He examined me just once. Turns out he didn't order a Scrotal ultrasound. (My internist had to do that later.) When I saw him again, he looked guilty and suggested surgery might be necessary. Another urologist has since said Dr. Shessel was wrong not to do a prostate exam to rule out other diagnoses. In short, his medical opinions and presentation are equally inadequate. Avoid this doctor, and GA Urology!

Staff was very nice to me, and Dr. Shessel was pleasant enough. He didn't really answer my questions though, and in fact said that he thought my other urologist and general md were on the wrong path with my diagnosis...basically throwing three years of tests, office visits, and other professional opinions out the window. I'll return for my 6 week follow up, but depending on how that visit goes I may be getting (yet another) second opinion.

Rude and arrogant, absolutely could care less that I was in horrible pain. The staff is not much better.

Removed my right kidney due to tumor. Performed surgery laproscopically. Advised by telephone that the tumor was malignant while in hospital. Never saw him again during hospital stay. At follow-up office visit, his manner was so rude, arrogant and short that I left his office in tears. Changed doctor immediately. As a result of surgery, I have had constant problems for 10 years now due to pain, incisional hernias and scar tissue.

I'm a female and was not impressed with his bedside manner at all. He seemed rushed even during an uncomfortable test without offering any comforting words. He seemed unconcerned with helping me. His nurse/assistant was also not very comforting or friendly. I won't return.

Dr. Shessel has a terrible bedside manner. From what I overheard (due to extremely thin walls in treatment rooms), he pays much more attention to men seeking treatment for sexual dysfunction than to women.

I received excellent diagnostic care in the office, including a cystoscopy and excellent surgical care in the hospital. Dr Shessel was very accommodating of my special needs and had a warm bedside manner.

Cystoscopy done, which had been done many times before without pain; arrogant and caused huge amount of pain needlessly.
