I have seen many doctors and many Specialists over the years. Within 15 to 20 minutes into my appointment dr. Lamb knew exactly what was wrong with me from head to toe and explained it all while all of the others combined only had an idea without knowing for sure. Dr. Lamb has a wonderful personality and is very knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anybody in pain.

Dr. Lamb is extremely knowledgeable and caring. He has an acute understanding of the human body and many options for pain management with an outside of the box approach customized to the particular patient. He takes the time he needs with each patient so appt waits can be a bit but I have not experienced this. His staff are kind and treat you like family. I have never had my pain issues better understood or managed.

Dr. Lamb is the only doctor to properly diagnose and determine the root cause of my many symptoms. This after seeing a number of specialists in a variety of settings over a timescale of years including an out patient hospital spine centre, a neurologist, an anesthesiologist and a pain clinic in the GTA. After years of being given a quick and cursory review in each setting I was misdiagnosed and given treatments that I was assured would save the day, but which yielded minimum results. For my herniated disc, This included 'star' treatments such as cortisone epidurals, and lest you think I didn't give it the true 'college try' two years of physiotherapy, osteopathy, naturopathy and so on. Prior to this, it was one trip after another for years to investigate issues of joint pain, fatigue, back pain, headaches and so on - with no relief. Finally I was referred to Dr. Lamb's clinic. It was small, it was cozy, I was the only patient in the waiting room. When I met Dr. Lamb, I was well practiced with my info - just keep it to the worst pain, keep it short, etc. Rather than working the conversation to minimize the time, he actually talked to me - and asked a lot of questions - wanting detail, wanting to fill in the years and my health history, not just about the herniated disc, but what else was going on and had been for years. This was followed up by a thorough physical examination, which took him about 20 seconds to find 'IT'; that pain in my middle back that I've had since I was a teenager, the one that I was told didn't exist, that X-rays showed no problem - the one that I learned not to talk about because it made me seem like a hypochondriac, and yes, I was certainly trained to not mention it to this new Dr, who was for me just another in along string of medical professionals. I didn't want to risk him thinking I was imagining things and discourage a treatment plan. But he found it anyway, and said wow, this is really bad! Then he found all these other trigger points, some I didn't even know I had, but we're so painful! Then I learned that so many of my issues, many not mentioned here, were actually just part of a bigger picture - there were 'root' issues here, ones that needed to be treated in order for therapies like physio to be effective. So I said "I'm not crazy?" And he said "you are definitely not crazy, these symptoms are real, and can be treated". I wonder if you are one of the legion of 'walking wounded' like me, and could benefit from the experience of a true expert in chronic pain management. As my highly respected family physician told me "There is no one who understands anatomy like Dr Lamb" I have been seeing Dr. Lamb for six months. For the first time in two years, I don't have shooting pains down my right leg, and the heel of my right foot isn't constantly inflamed. To me these are miracles, but I have a ways to go to be sure. But I know I have finally found a doctor that understands what is going on with me, and knows how to treat it. I just wish I was referred to Dr. Lamb sooner. My experience has been that his treatments have relieved my pain in some instances, lessened it with others, and I understand that my health issues are complex and will take in my case a long time to 'undo' the damage that has been done. I also follow, his directions, as I have always done with all my treatments to the fullest. There's no 'half assed' here, I do my exercises every day, multiple times. Unfortunately OHIP does not yet cover the types of treatments Dr. Lamb provides - this is a reflection on our patchy health care coverage, not Dr. Lamb. He has been very happy to provide me with the paperwork necessary to get what I can refunded through my private insurance which is possible for some. We are lucky here in Canada that we don't have to pay for all our medical needs, but the reality is there are many medical issues that still require private payment, of which these treatments are just one. If this is the only time you will ever have to pay out of pocket for health issues you are lucky - talk to a parent whose child has special needs who need to pay out of pocket for their schooling their therapies, etc. If Dr. Lamb was motivated by greed it would be evidenced by a factory like setting with assistants, quick evaluations, high patient volumes, standardized treatments, etc. All of which I have experienced at another pain clinic, NONE of which you will experience with Dr. Lamb; here you will be treated with dignity, you will be given time and thoughtfulness, your treatment will be individualized to meet your needs as an important person whose health really matters. If you are suffering right now, I encourage you to get a consultation - it is covered by OHIP and then you can judge for yourself. For me, this is the best investment I have ever made, and I have found Dr. Lamb to be a very rare combination of skill and caring. All the best to you in your healing journey.

So far so good. I have been seeing Dr. Lamb for a few months now and I finally have a proper diagnosis for my back pain, and I am finally seeing results. After two years of being in alot of pain all I can say is that Dr. Lamb is the best. Sports medicine, physiotherapist, chiropractors, osteopaths, physiatrist, massage therapist have all failed me. This doctor understand chronic pain better than anybody else. He is also a very caring individual. His treatments are costly but they work. In retrospect his treatments are not much more expensive than all the paramedical treatments that don't work at fixing the problem. I wish I had heard of him a year ago.

I am suspicious. I had a consultation and he spent 40 min with me. Near the end of this time I asked how much it would cost and was told $2-$3K which is about $200 per treatment, 10-15 treatments. His mentor is Dr Chan Gunn, see istop.org. I asked Dr James L Henry if he knew him and he did not. Dr Henry works in Hamilton and comes up in many places in a google search, for example: http://www.cahr-pain.ca/page.aspx?menu=50&app=186&cat1=443&tp=2&lk=no. I did not have Dr Lamb treat me since I am not convinced he is that good. If he showed up more in a Google search or had more ratings here I would give him a try. Charging people this much who are desperate to get out of pain does not seem right. I tried contacting the nearest Fibromyalgia organization and they did not know of him.

The best Doctor around, he is the most thoughtful and care doctor that I have ever been around. He educates you about your health issues and works with you to fix them. He is a very caring individual who has compassion for his patients. He is the best around. He is very knowlegable in his field and continues to provide me with new treatments for my back issues. He was the only doctor who was able to help me after my failed back surgery. I trust this man with my life!!! Sandy his support staff also Rocks!!

He may not always be punctual, however that is because he takes the time to know each of his patients as people. He saved my life where 26 other doctors failed...There is not much more to say...Thank you, Thank you, Thank you...There are not enough words to describe how awesome Dr. L really is...If you are in pain, there is no one else who can do what he can do. A great person too!

Dr Lamb is an intelligent, wonderful, caring and compassionate doctor. His secretary is great too...very nice person. He didn't cure me but he certainly got me out of a lot of pain. He is not covered by OHIP but he is worth the money. Highly recommended.

What can I say? Dr. Lamb is the most knowledgeable and compassionate physician treating pain that I know of. He actually listens to what you have to say and provides excellent care. It is just to bad that OHIP or insurance companies do not cover these types of treatments. They do not understand that this physician is improving the qualify of lives of those living with chronic pain. He has certainly improved my life..His friendly secretary Sandy only adds to the positive atmosphere of this wonderful pain clinic...
