Dr.Pope by far is the BEST doctor EVER!!!!! I've been with him for 2o plus years now! The healthcare office is forever changing and change has to happen. Jill is the best nurse EVER too! but sigh his new way of taking appointments is awful!! he is my 4 kids doctor as well! when I hear horror stories from my friends they all envy what we have here. seriously we got to take the bad with how much GOOD really comes out of the office! I 100% agree about the front desk. They are VERY rude at times and make me want to loose my mind. I have a easier time communicating with my 2 year old then I do them some days. Overall SUPER happy and will never change

Dr. Pope is a great doctor HOWEVER the place where he is now does not give a crap about peoples lives, especially if you get the receptionist named "Missy" on the phone...I had a severe kidney infection that came back and when I phoned in and explained to her that I needed to see someone asap as I was having recurring issues with my kidney she fluffed me off and said no could see me. I told her that I was under the impression this was serious and asked if i should go to the clinic...she told me to "do what i have to do" with attitude. I called another couple times until FINALLY I talked to another receptionist who actually cared and booked me an appointment with the doctor on call. This receptionist told me she was "shocked" that 'Missy' did not offer me anything and told me to go to the clinic. Missy should be fired, kidney infections lead people to LOSE their kidneys. This lady should not be in healthcare as she has no regard to the "health" of anyone.

dr Pope is a good person and means well BUT he is way too casual about serious health matters, and at times rude. I spent many years telling doctor Pope that there were some abnormal chronic illness issues I was experiencing...He seemed unconcerned that the problem was undiagnosed and unresolved. After multiple visits he might finally run a test or two with no follow up and when we did speak he would say there was no problem. After years of suffering from chronic illness without medical diagnosis or care I finally was able to piece together the problems with the help of another doctor. What Mr Pope seems not to realize is that a doctor has a responsibility to provide the best level of care to his patients, and that to a degree, the patient`s medical well-being is his ethical and moral responsibility. Not something that should be taken lightly. Also, I love good humour, but he makes inappropriate and insensitive jokes at times.

Personally I've been seeing Dr John Pope in Kitchener for over 20 years. I have never had to wait long to see him for appointments. I find his humor helpful when I am feeling down. I suffer from debilitating depression and he has and continues to treat me very well for that condition. I do not see him doing some of the negative things some people have noted here. I find Dr Pope Helpful punctual professional and very current on his medical training.

went to him for depression 5 years ago, recieved horrible treatment and advice with no follow up, this man should no longer be allowed to practice medecine besides putting a bandaid on a booboo. also went to him recently(because i cant find another dr taking new patients)i went for severe elbow and arm pain witch prevents me from doing my job, his answer was to buy lottery tickets. instead of helping me.

Dr. Pope delivered me, in 1986. He has been my family physician ever since. He has excellent bedside manner, and every patient can appreciate that. He is also very patient, doesn't rush you through what you try to explain, and will hear out what you have to say, including discussing what the condition could possibly be. I have had appointments with him ranging from 2 minutes to 30 minutes, discussing what needed to be done to keep me in my best health. I have found that if you request a long appointment, instead of the regular appointment, then he can account for the time you will need to speak with him and will adjust his schedule accordingly, so he is not rushing through patients. He is extremely knowledgable, and will rule out possible causes for illnesses as needed, including unnecessary tests. The great thing about the office, is if you are ever unsure, you can request an appointment with the DR on call for a second opinion.

always listens carefully and has suggestions for treatment, or advises on a specialist for further investigation.

Dr.Pope has been my doctor for over 20 years. I have always found him to be thorough and helpful. Contrary to some reports here, he has ordered numerous and appropriate tests over the years. He has also referred me to specialists on at least 3 occasions. He is an excellent doctor !

Been with this doc for many yrs so he should know me (& my conditions/diseases well)but doesn't always take them into consideration. Need to see him with the same complaint about 3 times before he acts on it.Average time per visit is 2-3 min.if he's in a hurry!Takes 2 weeks just to get an appointment - what good is having a Dr if you can't get in to see him? Definetly does not do enough testing when warranted! I had another Dr ask where my tests were so he could diagnose me. Didn't have any! Yes he is polite & funny. Doesn't understand some personalities, or why people do the things they do.Not a pill pusher. We could have far worse, but he needs to attend to these issues.
