Communication skills are primitive, further marred by supercilious, condescending attitude. First time joint assessment for my extremely frail elderly mother. Told me not to speak when we sat down to discuss case. I am a medical professional with a MSc. Told me what she was going to do with care and meds, without considering my input. Made major med adjustments without providing rationale. I had cared for my parent for years and know medical and pharmacological issues in depth. Felt dismissed without confidence in quality of care ongoing . This is not a doctor I would refer anyone to.

Dr Thayaparan has been a kind ,knowledgable doctor and amazingly respectful to my mother. She always treated her from the heart for my mothers many memory and health conditions. We could not have gotten through many difficult times without her ongoing care. Her staff always give their all to the seniors in their care. Her knowledge has been invaluable. It has been many difficult years with my mothers issues of illnesses but with Dr Thayaparan as my moms geriatrician we all got through every stage. We will never forget the skill and kindness . We can never express our families appreciation! Million thanks!!

I am the coordinator for Senior's programs in a nation-wide organization which is located in Toronto. I invited Dr. Jeya Thayaparan to our organization to do presentations as a volunteer many times. Regardless her busy schedule, Dr. Jeya Thayaparan did excellent presentations. She took her time to do power point presentations during these times to explain everything clearly to our participants. She answered the questions of participants with a smiling face and motivated them to become involved in activities to combat Alzheimer’s and dementia. I have been working as a community worker for almost twenty years. Whenever I request medical doctors to do awareness presentations, almost all of them decline our request and claim that either they are very busy or not interested in doing presentations. I am extremely thankful for Dr.Jeya Thayaparan who is very passionate to connect with the community and tries her best to educate people and tries her best to make positive changes in people’s lives, especially seniors. All our seniors who received Dr. Jeya Thayaparan’s services raved and made positive remarks about her service. Today when I visited her page to give her my feedback, I was so shocked to see some gave such mean remarks. I am sure that they are either ignorant or not ready to accept the truth that their loved ones are deteriorating with Alzheimer’s and dementia. This is why we need to educate our community thoroughly. We should learn to value the experience and expertise of doctors like Jeya Thayaparan. We should remember that medical professionals are also human beings and they also have to deal with day-to-day challenges personally and professionally. We should do self-analyze before we put the blame on someone. Anyways, as a community worker I would like to recommend Dr.Jeya Thayaparan strongly to those who are in need.

My mother has Parkinson's disease and has been a patient of Dr. Thayaparan's for the past 3 years. Dr. Thayaparan has gone above and beyond in caring for my mother. She understands the difficulties that my mom experiences and ensures all aspects of her care are thouroughly addressed at every appointment. Dr. Thayaparan even went as far as helping my mom find a family doctor as she did not have one after we moved. She extends her compassion not only to my mother but to us the care takers as well. Diseases like this are life changing to everyone involved and Dr. Thayaparan takes the time to make sure we are all well informed so that my mom has the best care possible. She and her caring staff work diligently to make us aware of all the services available and ensures that we have access to them. Even during the pandemic the level of care Dr. Thayaparan offered us has exceeded expectations. She has helped my mom through her depression and anxiety and with her suggested treatment plan, my mom is doing much better and managing well. We are eternally grateful for Dr. Thayaparan's care and compassion. Her patients are very blessed to have her involved in their care.

Dr.Thayaparan correctly diagnosed my mother with Alzheimer's five years ago. This disease is hard on the patient and the family. Dr. Thayaparan completely understands that and has been helping not only my mom to live a quality life but also helping us the caretakers to understand Alzheimer's and to provide quality of life for my mother. My mom is forgetful but she never forget Dr.Thaparan's compassion. She has become my mom's favorite doctor and she is always excited to go to her appointments as the Dr.Thayaparn's staff is so wonderful as well. She has provided all the services available for my mom and us. That really helped us to over come all the battles that comes along with this disease. During this pandemic she took grate care of my mom by virtual appointments and phone calls. I am very grateful for her kind patient care and effective treatments. I hope Dr. Thayaparan continues to serve Geriatric field for years to come.
