This is not the guy to see if you are looking for revision rhinoplasty. My nose looks worse than when I went in to see him. I had broken my nose twice as a kid, and as such, have always been quite sensitive about my nose (having been made fun of my entire childhood). You would think that someone who goes into this profession genuinely cares about their work, and wants to perform excellent work in order to help improve people's self esteem.

My nose now, not only has an S-shaped curvature, but one nostril sits higher than the other, leaving my face looking very asymmetrical. When I mentioned this, he told me that some of the most beautiful women have asymmetrical noses. Yeah, sure, when they're born with a natural asymmetry that suits their face. I didn't pay someone thousands of dollars to give me an asymmetrical nose! They tried to correct it with injections for a little while post-op, but then that was that (it didn't fix anything) I wish I could attach a photo to this site.

Also, don't trust a surgeon who only posts side profiles of rhinoplasty. The front view is also important. There is too much generalization with plastic surgery here in Canada, a doctor can't specialize in facelifts, breast augmentation and rhinoplasty. Master of None!

I have been putting off getting my breasts done and I've put in many countless hours researching every surgeon in Vancouver. I found Dr. Carr as he seems to be one of the top surgeons here in Vancouver. I had my Consultation last year and he made me feel so comfortable and at ease. Booking the surgery was a breeze thanks to Tammy. Post op nurse Elaine was so caring and answered every question I had. The front reception Amy and Cher was so pleasant and friendly everytime I was in the office. I can't thank Dr. Carr & his staff enough. I had such a great experience.

I can’t even begin to express my gratitude to Dr Carr and the amazing work he did. I have been putting off getting my breasts done for so long but I finally did it and I’m glad I went to Dr Carr. From the Consult to the surgery, he made the whole process a dream. Recovery was amazing and so was the nurse Elaine. Tammy has been there to answer any of my questions. Cher and Monica has been so lovely everytime I walk in the door. Thank you Dr Carr and Skinworks staff!

I had a rhinoplasty done by a surgeon on the north shore back in 2008 ish. I simply went to him because he had just done my breast Aug that i was really pleased with. Dont do that people ...just because a surgeon is great at a particular surgery doesn't mean he's great at another. This surgeon is well known for his breast aug. He shaved down the bridge (i had no issues with bridge projection but im not a surgeon so perhaps necessary to adjust tip) and sewed the nostril to the cartilage where it belongs. No bones broken or anything major...done in his actual office. The recovery was absolutely brutal. But the result after a month or two was great. But That's when things went wrong, the nostril detached itself from where it was sewn and ....I can't even tell you how horrified I was with what I saw in the mirror...it was like 10000 × worse then what i went in with. The surgeon told me "there's nothing I can do". I started getting consults as far as Dr nassif in LA (prior to his TV show) but the quote was around 18k. Several surgeons in the lower mainland said they could fix it but I wasn't confident in THEM . I saw a Dr Brown? (Could be wrong on the name) at false creek. He wasn't confident in his ability or perhaps uneasy with the risk? (totally understandable when dealing with a revision) to correct the problem but knew someone who would be, he referred me on to Dr Carr.
Here's the thing people....it doesn't matter the ratings of the surgeon you choose. What matters is your confidence in their ability. And after at least 7 consults, Dr Carr was the only one I was 100% confident in. His staff at the office as well as at false creek surgical center were kind, understanding, non judgy, etc I couldnt have asked for more. Dr Carr himself, was honest, realistic, and accurate in his prediction of outcome. I even left some details up to him as he's literally the expert here. Surgery went well, and despite him having to be more aggressive (breaking it) to correct previous surgery, the recovery was surprisingly far more comfortable than the less invasive first surgery. I can breathe now without my nose running, I dont have to carry kleenex in my pocket 24/7, I look in the mirror and am happy with what I see staring back at me. It looks close to what I had BEFORE I ever started messing with it, just fits my face better with the original alteration to tip that i asked for. My own sister to this day has no idea what changed on my face. I highly recommend Dr Carr. I need a revision to a breast aug also done by that original surgeon (nothing wrong with the outcome....just has been 17 years now. 25 when it was done, and im 42 tomorrow) I will be consulting with Dr Carr FIRST.

I’m not usually one to write reviews but as I have gotten older I find I do my research a lot more and tend to take reviews more seriously so I wanted to share my experience with Dr Carr at Skinworks! I had my first surgery at 20 years old which I got saline implants through my armpits, I had a great surgery, great healing, never once had any issues with my implants and loved the size and shape he chose for me. After having the same implants for 12 years, 3 babies later I went to have my implants switched out (this past February) I went with a bit bigger of an implant and had an peri areola lift which went well as expected! Both times I had surgery I very briefly explained what I was wanting and was given my options to choose from which was explained well and would give me the look I was wanting... about 5 years ago I had a consultation with him to switch my implants as I wanted to go a bit bigger a while back... after talking with him he actually advised me to hold off when I told him I may have one more baby... after having another baby and completing my family I then booked again where he actually honoured the same pricing from my prior visit which was unexpected but Greatly appreciated!
Needless to say I have met him a good handful or two of times through consults, surgery and post op and I personally LOVE Dr Carr I think he is not only a great surgeon but a super nice professional man who knows his stuff, he is not one bit creepy, rude or judgmental and I would recommend him to anyone... keep in mind you get what you pay for!
Also I found the staff always friendly... usually a little busy but nothing that effected me or bothered me!
I found Elaine (the nurse there when you wake up) and who helps during recovery appointments to be so great! She is very nurturing and educated and I felt great being in her care (side note) my healing was during covid and never was I shorted on appointments I talked to Elaine over the phone a couple times and also through pictures and was booked right when they opened back up with her and dr Carr.

A wonderful experience every step of the way! I’m a 62 year man who went in for a full-face lift, major liposuction in the belly and back area and revision of an ugly looking scar on my belly. Knowing I was in for seven hours of surgery, the whole thing seemed rather daunting as I walked into the OR. However, once on the table, Dr. Lee, the anesthetist, put me at ease with his friendliness and within seconds I felt a wonderful feeling come over me. In what seemed like an instant later I awoke to Nurse Elaine asking me how I felt. She handed me a mirror and despite the swelling, I could already see the exciting results of my facelift. From that point on things just kept getting better and better! Each morning was exciting as I would get up to see ever growing improvements as I healed. After two months, the results on my face and body are amazing! My wife is practically giddy over my transformation and even my kids keep telling me how good I look! Everyone who sees me is astounded by the lack of any visible scarring on my face. And the ugly looking scar on my belly has practically vanished. Plus, I went from having a fat belly to having a six pack! I find the results utterly astonishing! Much better than I expected. I look and feel at least 10 years younger and my confidence in my appearance has skyrocketed. This is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Dr. Carr is a master at what he does! After my very extensive experience in his hands, I am convinced that you could not find a better plastic surgeon anywhere – certainly not in Vancouver and perhaps not even in LA or New York. While warm and supportive, he’s also a straight shooter who calls it as it is. If you can benefit from cosmetic surgery, he’ll tell you and will turn you away if you can’t. Also, the clinic’s pain management is flawless. At no time following the surgery did I feel any physical pain. Some discomfort yes – but never any pain. Dr. Carr’s staff is also wonderful. Nurse Elaine is a real gem who’s with you from the time you wake up until you are fully healed, through a series of post op visits. Tammy, who arranges all the surgery did a first-class job of scheduling me at the earliest possible date and she makes me feel like I’m visiting a good friend every time I drop into the office. The reception crew, Cherysse, Amy and Karen are also fantastic and make me feel so welcome every time I have an appointment! I thank all of you! In summary, Dr. Carr’s Office is a first-class operation. You won’t find better anywhere. The only downside is that he has a massive waiting list and it will take many months to get an initial consultation and many more months for your surgery. But as the adage goes, good things are worth waiting for. If I could give this place 6 stars I would. - Mike R.

Went from even looking breasts with some sagging to have an implant exchange and mastopexy. Ended up with very uneven breasts in size and asymmetry. Dr. Carr will not take responsibility for the fact that he sowed one side more then the other making my one breast looking higher then the other. Kept telling me that it’s the swelling, then that the breast has to settle (which is absurd because I’ve had implants for 20 years) and why would one need to settle but not the other. I wish I never gone with him. I wanted him to fix it and he tried to charge me $3000 on top of the $13,500 I already spent. Once he gets your money he no longer cares, he’s on to the next one. Very disappointing!

I am scarred physically and emotionally from my experience and the terrible results I received by Dr. Carr.
After much research and based off his credentials, I thought I was in good hands and chose this doctor for gynecomastia surgery and a tummy tuck.
To say my results are botched is an understatement.
My whole love life and confidence has been shattered in my early twenties by this surgery that I am terrified to take my shirt off in front of anyone. My chest looks deformed. My nipples are not in the anatomically correct spot on my chest and I have huge, gaping holes left because he removed too much breast gland and fat.
I worked very hard to transform my body and all that has been ruined by Dr. Carr.
I have extensive scarring all over my abdomen and lower back from the tummy tuck.
Which is not even the beginning. Because I ended up with a serious infection that I had to spend 3 days at VGH plastic surgery department getting pumped with IV antibiotics after having severe pains and so much puss and blood coming out of my abdomen drains to the point I couldn’t even walk upright for weeks. After calling Dr. Carr many times with my ever increasing concerns, he was very dismissive and said there was no chance of infection after 2 weeks. When I finally arrived at VGH for some help, they thought they might have to open up the surgery site completely. Needless to say, Dr. Carr never followed up with my care at the hospital or showed any concern.
I am still traumatized to this day and have gone through so much pain, physically and emotionally. I am absolutely ashamed at how my body looks now. I am shocked I received this type of result and lack of care from the head of plastic surgery at UBC. I honestly think I would have been better off trying my luck in someone’s basement in Tijuana.

Best surgeon ever. I feel so much more confident after he performed my revision mastopexy, explant, lift... and then had to sew in new pockets to fit my smaller implants which are so much better suited to my frame. He and all the staff are warm, caring and totally helped put me at ease throughout the surgery process. I wish I had seen him first before having surgery with another doctor 4 years ago who put in implants that were way too large. Your search is over... he is simply a cosmetic genius.
