She’s now retired so those of us affected by her practices can rest easier now.

She’s an amazing counselor. She’s blunt which some people don’t like; but sometimes you need to be told the truth

Called me a FREAK for being a (16 year old at the time) g ay trans man that dresses somewhat effeminately on occasion. She was not at all up to date on trans terminology, and every "session" felt hostile and left me drained and hopeless. Absolutely would never recommend to any trans person, especially not trans children. I'm amazed she still has a job.

She should not have been allowed to counsel anyone with something as delicate as transitioning. There was no method to her counselling, just a lot of adhoc and irrational remarks. Really have to wonder where her supposed PhD came from-was it a bogus online university?

Used her 'services' in 2009, she was the only game in town and gatekept access to treatment by a real Doctor for folk like me. She was full of outdated and stereotypical nonsense. I played her game and dropped her the moment I got my documents signed.

If you want a real professional, check Maire Robinson. She's brilliant, and a much better use of your time if you want a human being with no ulterior motives.

I'm nonbinary and went to see her with my parents when I was 15. She was terrible: she told me that nonbinary people didn't exist and that "eventually I would decide if I wanted to transition." She also told me that I needed to learn not to come out because no one cared, and likened coming out as nonbinary to telling people what I did in bed. 0/10.

I loves Selma and she made me feel great and that there was hope. She helped me transition in a way that was really easy and logical, and provided me with the steps I needed and the information that would get me there.
