I can't say enough good things about Dr. Kent and his team...I knew my valves were in bad shape as he was very candid with me but also confident they could be replaced...turned out they were worse, but I am here typing now, so you know the outcome...Dr Kent came to see me several times after and called my son to explain how the surgery went...Truly felt he cared and the nurses agreed he was the best...Thank you, Dr. Kent!

I was told repeatedly by different colleagues of Dr Kent’s that he was the best, so I felt really good about him being my surgeon. He is very attentive and shows a lot of empathy. If you have Dr Kent as your surgeon, you can rest easy knowing he is an excellent surgeon.

Dr. Kent and his team saved my mom's life in September 2022. My mom had high blood pressure and high cholesterol that, despite regularly going to the doctor, she left untreated (her choice) which resulted in a torn aorta (aortic dissection). After about 6 hours of surgery her aorta was repaired and she is alive with us today. She still has a long recovery ahead of her (because unfortunately in addition to the torn aorta, before getting to the hospital and thereafter she suffered several strokes) but she is a fighter and Dr. Kent and his team gave her a second chance, my family and I cannot thank Dr. Kent and his team enough!

Dr. Kent did a fantastic heart bypass operation for me on Jun.9, 2021. On August 11, 2021, I started to hike at Bow Lake. Almost half year later, I resumed my normal hiking activities. I'd appreciate him what he has done and hope he is successful on his career journey.

Hell of a story. I had a bum atrial valve, just a write off it caused me to have a stroke, and the risk of another was high unless that valve was replaced. Dr. Kent was given the task. The plan was to do a minimally invasive called keyhole surgery. It was not that easy though. Once the team had me under they did an echocardiogram and found two other problems with my heart that had to be addressed, what a piece of junk! Anyway, there I was, out cold and time ticking away, there he was needing a new plan asap. He .went from keyhole to full open heart on the spot and fixed all three at one go. Nerves of steel. I have not complained about last minute disruptions to my petty little plans since.

I went into my mitral valve and tricuspid valve surgery thinking i would be getting two replacements but instead I came out with Dr. Kent able to successfully do repairs on them. I will be forever grateful to him for his ability to innovate and you can really tell he cares about his patients and their needs. I was incredibly anxious and upset before surgery but he successfully calmed me down and made me feel at ease about the situation, which is a very difficult task to do. I am so grateful to be alive right now and I owe it all to Dr. Kent, you seriously could not ask for a better more caring surgeon and I am beyond blessed to have had him doing my surgery.

I was diagnosed with bicuspid aortic valve and severe stenosis. I was advised by a few surgeons with different type of valve replacement and I was very confused. I was starting to back away from the Ross procedure due to its complexity . I met with Dr.Kent and he assured me that Ross was the best option for me and offered to help me through guiding and supporting me through my decision making process. I trusted him and i am glad i did . He did my Ross procedure on Dec 15 2022 and I was home by Dec 21 2022. Today is Dec 28 and i am recovering at home enjoying my time with my kids . Dr Kent is a very talented and professional and we are lucky to have him in calgary.

Dr. Kent performed a Ross procedure on me after I had researched it. To put it plainly, this man is a rock star! He has expertise that is rare and he is willing to innovate. He is a great listener and will advise what is best for you. He will answer your questions and give you the straight up facts. My exposure to his staff was limited to Nurse Practicioners and they were wondeful as well with exceptional knowledge. I can't say enough good things about this great MD.
