I consider myself extremely lucky to have received care from Dr. Ahn, who has now performed two laminectomies and spinal fusions on me. I should have, but didn't, write a review after my 2019 surgery, but will not let this opportunity pass following my recent surgery (January 2024). Dr. Ahn has that rare combination of amazing bedside manner and brilliant surgical skills. I could go on and on about all of my positive experiences with Dr. Ahn, but will instead simply say that I leave with a smile, positivity and confidence following 100% of my many appointments with him. Happy for anyone who has the good fortune to be cared for by Dr. Ahn.

Had a small minimally invasive discectomy done several weeks ago. I was essentially pain free. I have extremely severe leg pain from nerve compression and he was able to remove the herniated disc through a small opening. Amazing results. Very happy with how everything turned out!

Took my 82 year old mother to see Dr Ahn last week after she was referred from the ER where she had an MRI for several compression fractures. Somehow his office had not received any paperwork, however his staff were very accommodating and got us in to see him and one of his associates. They took the time to thoroughly assess my mothers situation, explained the situation in detail, and provided us with some surgical options. Have nothing but good things to say about this man.

In so much pain, wear a hard collar to go the washroom. Specialists just keep passing me around without any help. Vascular surgeon told me to go outside of Canada for care because neurosurgeons here sit on their hands.

I had loose screws in my back & he postponed my surgery 5 times for 2 full years…. Avoid him…. Last time he brought me into the surgical theatre & got me out last second saying he doesn't have enough beds…
He wanted to do a very low success rate surgery. He said if it doesn’t succeed ill do a spinal fusion.
& he still never did it for me & kept me in pain with loose screws in my back… avoid him.. trust me…

I received notification to see this surgeon after a phone call from the hospital stating that I required surgery for lower back compression and degenerative disc disease. Dr. Ahn gave me approximately 3 minutes of his time and was very dismissive. I am very disappointed in what our health care system has become. I am just one person in many that live in constant pain everyday and somedays can't even get out of bed

This hospital and several surgeons did everything in their power to ignore me. have permanent damage with limited function because of it. Went to emergency several times. Bedridden since the beginning of the pandemic Thank you.

I had surgery in the New year - the pandemic had caused many operating rooms to be cancelled. I needed urgent surgery and Dr Ahn was able to get me into the operating room with one of the last beds during the lockdown. He saved my life. I would not be here walking without his help.
I had severe spinal cord compression and was in a wheelchair. I needed his help and he delivered. Walking today. Thank you.

Dr Ahn appears nice but was not very helpful in ordering follow up tests. He just did not seem interested in helping due to pre-existing conditions. Wish I went somewhere else to have neck evaluation.
