Dr Slater saw me for a second opinion. He took the time to understand me as well as the injury. He was patient and conducted a thorough examination. I was very pleased to be able to see him for this second opinion and reassured that he agreed with the treatment I was receiving.

After 15 months of foot pain and several allied health reviews, he made the right diagnosis in under 15 minutes. He provided a non-operative management plan and my pain improved following this plan. In addition to making the correct diagnosis, he was cheaper than the two podiatrists I had seen. He had a lovely, kind manner. I would recommend him to those with foot and ankle problems.

I saw Dr Slater for the first time on Tuesday and he had operated on my broken toe by Thursday. He is extremely kind and caring and his staff, particularly Rachel, are very helpful and friendly. Couldn’t rate higher, as wonderful an experience as surgery can be!
Dr Slater also fixed my mother’s big toes and she has been able to return to bushwalking. Really great surgeon.

Gave advice when asked. Prepared me for a realistic outcome.
Previously he had repaired damage from bushwalking on an old fractured ankle. 8 cysts in ankle bones with bone graft from thigh - totally successful (15 years later) ankle fusion and repair.
Also two bunion repairs totally successfully have restored my bushwalking so that I am about to do the Kosciuszko summit for my 78th birthday.

Dr Slater has given me new hope. He did an ankle fusion for me in May this year, as after a nasty leg break last year from a horse throwing me violently, I was in so much pain ... I had my tibia repaired but every step was agony as there was no cartilage left in my ankle. I travelled down from Northern NSW as I had heard he was the best in his field. He did not disappoint!! He spent a lot of time with me and my Sister explaining the best thing for my specific problem. He is kind and compassionate and never rushes. Thanks to Dr Slater I am now walking pain free even though my leg is still weak after 18 months of hardly any use but I now know it's up to me to get the strength back. Thank you so much for your great expertise as I knew this was a "One off" operation ... I am now, hopefully able to grow older AND walk without pain, Yours Faithfully Angela Weber.

Kim did a reconstruction of my ankle about 10 years ago and I am still amazed that I can walk without a limp as I did for 15 years prior to seeing him.

Took 3 times longer examining my foot than any other 'specialist'. He is extremely knowledgeable and does the best for his patient. Doesn't give you false hope or promise unrealistic expectations. Long wait time but he is the absolute best of the best and 110% worth it
