As a vulnerable female, the misogyny was palpable. The advice given was detrimental, and having since seen a clinical psychologist with expertise in complex trauma (and EMDR), I am appalled at how risky it is seeing this man when you’re in need of help. Avoid and consider psychology instead.

I can endorse the comment of 25 October 2021, having met a person adversely affected by Dr Devadason’s lax approach to patient confidentiality. Steer clear, I say.

I would give you zero stars if I could, Mr Devadason. You are an abomination.

Your treatment of my female relative and in particular your attempt to have her sent for an unnecessary operation that would prevent her from ever having children caused immeasurable distress and robbed me of any remaining hope that psychiatry in Australia was anything else in substance than a particularly brutal form of coercive control, particularly when exercised by a man against a woman although there are female perpetrators amongst your ranks.

In time, and I hope I live to see the day, eugenicists and psychological torturers such as you and your colleagues that possess the same God delusion as you will be regarded in the same dismal light in the ranks of medicine as the offending priests and other members of the Catholic Church, the Salvation Army, and other so-called Christian organisations are now regarded by the average person of faith.

You do not have the right to dictate a person’s reproductive choices, Mr Devadason. Whatever abomination of a philosophy you subscribe to that tells you that you have such a right should be hurled away immediately. You are a disgrace to humanity.

Peter Devadason happily allowed himself to be suborned into breaking the confidentiality of his patient despite the illegality and immorality of doing so. Lacking in ethics.

Always punctual and tries to be helpful. Methodical in his approach to rule out physical issues while determining what biological reasons could be at fault. Staff aren’t very helpful still don’t know my name properly after more than 2 years weekly attendance at the practice despite being told numerous times. He will not give up on you or discard you if times become rough. I would recommend him but don’t come expecting a quick fix as he takes his time making you relax and trust his processes. Kind and considerate, remains calm even if you don’t and has never raised his voice. Sometimes frustrating but generally an all round competent dr.

Excellent psychiatrist. Methodical in his approach and looks to identify and minimise if not eliminate any non-psychiatric contributors or causes for your mental health problems (e.g sleep, blood and metabolic disorders). He will also send you for brain scans if there is any chance that a brain related condition or illness is a contributor or cause of your mental illness. He uses a variety of methods not just medication to help you and encourages you to develop resilience to things like depression. He is persistent, empathetic and always punctual with appointments. He is the complete opposite of psychiatrists who just want to throw some pills at you. I've 100% recommended him to friends.

The combination of targeted EMDR, considered medication management and holistic approach to my recovery has completely changed my life. I would recommend Dr Devadason to anyone.
