I rarely write reviews but felt I should in this instance. I recently had a knee replacement at The Mater by Dr Matt Lyons.
From the first appointment Dr Lyons was approachable, empathetic and knowledgeable. His open, friendly manner makes patients feel comfortable. My surgical recovery was slower than most patients, but Dr Lyons never made me feel like I was a nuisance. He listened, investigated the problem and then solved it quickly.
Dr Lyons is supported by a friendly and efficient administration team and by an experienced and skilled physiotherapist. Communication between all of this team is ongoing. I always felt supported.
I would recommend this surgeon to anyone with knee problems. He will take the time to work out what is the best plan for you based upon the latest research.

I highly recommend Dr Matt Lyons. After a failed knee replacement performed by another surgeon (who was supposedly Sydney's best knee doctor), Matt got me back in my feet. He's a good bloke too.

I can't recommend Matt more highly! After several failed attempts at a knee replacement, Matt has changed my life for the better. I'm glad I found out he is the guy his colleagues send all the complicated cases.... I can see why.

Unassuming and personable, Dr Matt Lyons performed my double knee replacement, and I am delighted with the results! After 4 months, I have very good mobility and flexion and very little pain. Dr Lyons is a very talented surgeon (and a nice guy) who has changed my life, and I will be forever grateful for his skill and his kindness.

Dr Lyons was a consummate professional. His manner is affable, warm and friendly. He took considerable time to listen to my concerns, examine me thoroughly, peruse my investigations and most importantly discuss my condition and the treatment options. The surgery was seamless and he saw me everyday to ensure my recovery was progressing appropriately. Importantly, my knee replacement is doing wonderfully well and I have recovered well without pain. I could not endorse him more highly.
