Sheila Turris has been a god-send to our family. She has been looking after my father for about 5.5 years now. She has been a tireless advocate for my dad and has helped ease the stress on our family as we have watched my father's cognitive and physical decline. Any questions or concerns I have had, Sheila will reply to my emails or phone calls as soon as possible and when she's been unavailable, her wonderful assistant, Yvonne, has done so on her behalf. Sheila has responded to me on weekends and evenings, it seems she never stops working for her patients. I can't say enough wonderful things about Sheila as a medical professional or her obvious deep caring for her patients and their families. We have been blessed to have Sheila as the primary care professional for my father.

I was asked by a mental health advocacy team to schedule a meeting with "Doctor" Turris, a nurse-practitioner who has had several complaints filed against her at their agency. This nurse-practitioner completed her PhD on the topic of predicting heart attacks. After meeting with her, I can only presume that she already had her dissertation written before defending it.

I have never met a more condescending, derogatory, sarcastic nurse in all of my years in medicine, and I am going into my 42nd year in the medical arts this year.

I am dismayed, astonished, angered, and saddened that this nurse-practitioner continues to instil the kind of deep anguish in her patients that she attempted to instil in me. NO ONE should use the medical system for their personal gain in this manner, but nurse-practitioner Turris has and continues to do so. It is with great sadness that I must now contact the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia and begin a tribunal, but I would rather work to get her out of the medical system than continue to read report after report of how she is brutalizing her patients and violating the Patient-Nurse Contract with them, as she did with me.

I had a really bad experience with this person. From the moment I entered her office she made it clear that she thought I was lying, that I didn’t need to be there, and that I could expect no support. Her words: “So, lots of strapping young men come in here and think they’re going to get additional nutritional supplements, what makes you think I’m going to believe you?” She said this in front of a witness. I’m filing a complaint with the College of Registered Nurses of BC, no one has a right to treat people like this.

hands down the best doctor I've ever had in my life; i'm almost 50 yrs of age and have had many. Sheila T. is a N/Pract. that is wholeheartedly and genuinely concerned with a patient's overall health and well being. can't say enough praise. fair warning though, leave your b. s. at home; she'll see right through it! very determined and surrounded by only the best referrals one could hope to be introduced to. carry on the great work and thanks again. T.M.

I had to deal with this silly woman last year. She was confrontation from the onset. She had no idea how to deal with a woman who knows what the problem is. She also has no idea how to talk to people without looking coked up. She didn't see me press RECORD on my iPhone during a session in November, and that recording really speaks for itself. If you absolutely must deal with this very unprofessional person, make sure you record it.
