I spent quite a bit of time and money with Maureen. I greatly regret it. At first it seemed very promising, the EMDR was quite good and effective. But then her reckless advice, side-taking between my husband and I and outright yelling and screaming (!) was beyond ridiculous. I was told things from my parent's confidential files! (They also went a few sessions, which I am pretty sure is a razor-thin line to a conflict of interest). Her recommendations to myself and my husband were both reckless and destructive. It took YEARS after that to recover the relationship we had before we even walked into her office. Thank God he was willing to be patient and see another therapist. I strongly recommend Dr. Pogue. Very insightful, not rude, sets decent boundaries and doesn't take up whole session talking about himself!

Maureen has been an amazing God sent to me! She is very knowledge, compassionate, professional and caring. Maureen helped me work on some issues I have had with sexual abuse issues since I was a child. She also helped me to deal with and move on completely from my divorce. Maureen and I also worked a lot on the issues I was having with my daughters sexual abuse. I have been to numerous other counselors, and psychologists and have never been able to really get down to the deep stuff about the sexual abuse of my daughter. I am now much more able to help my daughter as well. She went over my history in our first appointment and gave me a very clear plan and timeline. I have to say, I was very skeptical that I would really be able to completely process everything. Maureen got the results I so badly needed in the time she had promised. I was very quickly able to get through issues and have come away from my brief treatment with Maureen feeling AMAZING! I feel a huge weight is lifted off me and much more able to cope with life's stresses. My husband also noticed a big difference in me! I would HIGHLY recommend Maureen to everyone!!

Maureen is an exceptional therapist, she has helped me get past a very difficult time in my life. She is very helpful and knowledgeable. I was skeptical about seeing another therapist as I have seen other therapists in Calgary and have had poor experiences however Maureen was amazing. After my sessions I have seen dramatic changes. I recommend her to anyone!

I have had the pleasure to have Maureen as my therapist.for over two years. I was referred to ber by a friend of mine. She is very skillfull and knowledgable. She does not beat around the bush and has the best interest of her patients. Unlike all the other therapists that i have had, she tells you what you need to know/hear (not what you want to hear). She helped me to find and know a better and jappier life. I will be thankful to her for rest of my life. I strongly recommend her.

My experience with Maureen is exactly as reiterated below. As I was referred to her, I decided to give her a chance despite reading the reviews. What a waste of time and frankly emotional energy. Reading other peoples e-mails to me, talking medications, and talking constantly about herself and her health issues made me extremely uncomfortable. When she was ready to address my issues, the session was almost over. She is not professional and I wondered about her qualifications. Her inability to actually listen, makes it impossible to deal with the reason you came to see her in the first place. She jumps to conclusions and justifies them by saying she "psychic". I think her approach and behavior would raise a few eyebrows from her "colleagues" I don't want to hear about my therapist's problems, I am there to work through my own. She is a social worker, there are highly skilled, professionally trained psychotherapists in the city keep looking.

Maureen is very smart but she is too much the focus of her therapy sessions, multi tasking, washroom breaks, eating, taking meds, distracted by outside noises.
She needs to listen more as the reason people go to therapy is to not be dominated and controlled by her view on everything.
If she listened more and carefully heard her clients, she will be a far better counsellor.
Too egotistical, she does not get marriage, children at all.
Life is way more complex than her narrow view.
Do not go!

Maureen comes across more like a shrewd business woman than she does as warm, loving therapist. Her boundaries are firm and it was hard to make a connection with her. However, she does have her client's best interests at heart and she is extremely skilled at what she does. If this sounds like someone you want to work with, by all means go for it.
