Sloss has sold her soul to capitalist greed. After having taken DBT level 1 skills groups twice in the past two years she said I had to take 3 months of DBT skills group level one at HER clinic before I could proceed to level 2. What a waste of time and money as I informed her of this prior to my first intake. But she only told me of the ultimatum in the fourth session ($1,000 out of pocket later). She should be disgusted with herself milking vulnerable and hopeless clients for money for unnecessary treatments.

The worst psychologist. Blamed me for all of my problems. Go anywhere else.

Most of the positive reviews are from Sloss's family and friends or herself. Check under Broadview Psychology Google review, her husband provided the 5 star rating under his own name. Based on my experience with Broadview, they don't even deserve a 1 star rating. All Sloss cares about is payment, the patients' well being is irrelevant.

doesnt seem to care enough at least not for a psychologist/therapist. seems more money motivated.
if youre struggling it can be hard to have a therapist who doesnt put your needs before her own business/finanical concerns

In my experience, the staff at this clinic have been open-minded, helpful and took my feedback into consideration whenever it was offered. Staff are friendly, knowledgable and empathic. Dr. Sloss, in particular, is one of the most genuine, hopeful and supportive clinicians I’ve worked with - the first to see me as an individual and not a diagnosis or a problem.

This woman is dangerously bad at her job. Luckily I've since received great care from other qualified therapists, but she and the inexperienced students she employs set me back several years that I will never get back. She should absolutely not be practicing and has been warned by the Ontario College of Psychologists about her behaviour. Ask her!

The comments below, going back for the last 8 years consistently talk about lacking empathy and being disorganized. This is exactly the experience I had with her.

Terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible. The turnover rate in her practice, both patients and providers, speaks to the horrific business Dr. Sloss is running.

I'm very grateful for Broadview Psychology and the care they've provided me with over the years.

“Waste of time and money”
Very disappointed with this clinic, from their billing to their approach. Warning bells went off in the beginning when I got an email saying they currently do not except credit cards; Only cash, etransfer or cheque’s. In today’s world plastic is the main method of payment and I questioned why an established business didn’t accept credit cards...could it be that perhaps not having to pay credit card fees was more important than client convenience. I also read the reviews, so second round of warning bells. But we proceeded as it was convenient to get to. Mistake.
The experience unfortunately was a waste of time and money. We paid around $500 for two sessions of assessment, which really could have been completed in one. More money grab in my opinion. We wanted counselling and wanted a CBT approach. I was upfront and transparent about this from the very beginning. After assessment session one, our therapist was upfront saying CBT was a possibility in her clinical judgement however Dr Sloss felt DBT was going to be the recommendation. But this was to be determined after session two. Onto session two, which was about 25 min of actual assessment but billed for a full session. A few days post assessment I contacted Broadview and no surprise DBT was recommended! Not open to providing CBT instead. Yet our reason for going to the clinic was not for a severe mental health issue, nor borderline personality disorder. Just wanted counselling for coping and anxiety.
So...just as in other reviews be very wary of this clinic; if you are in need of counselling and perhaps CBT then stay away! Totally agree with another reviewer that they push DBT. The money made from the DBT program is significantly more than counselling and CBT. Lack of ethics, lack of transparency. Shame on them.
