I have just seen that Dr Sloka had his licience revoked on ctv this morning. My family called me to see if this was the doctor I have talked about. After having an appointment with Dr Sloka to go over MRI results I found it strange that he asked me to undress fully. Told me to sit on the side of the bed and opened my gown and proceeded to examine me. He touched my breasts very differently than a routine breast exam and continued examining the rest of my body I was very uncomfortable at this point. He then told me to dress and meet him in the other room to go over my results of the MRI on his computer. He booked another appointment which I never went back and got the heck out of there feeling violated. I have been bothered by this all these years and I feel relieved that these women came forward. Now I know it was not just me. I am disappointed in my self for not speaking up. But I feel relieved he can not do this to any other women anymore.

He is not retiring - he abused many women and has had his license to practice rightfully revoked. He will not have the opportunity to do this to any more women. I am glad I never left my daughter alone with him during her appointments.

Sloka is a skilled doctor and I don't discount that for a minute. But skills don't trump abuse. I am one of the women that came forward. The comments suggesting we did it for money are misguided and heartbreaking. There is zero financial gain for us and it is sad to see all the victim blaming. No wonder people don't come forward! Just because someone is a brilliant doctor and a nice person doesn't mean the abuse did not happen. I came forward with the hopes no one else would have to experience this. It is a sad time when people assume the victims are lying even though we get nothing from coming forward except the emotional trauma of having to recount it. Being exceptionally skilled in your profession does not mean it is okay and I am happy the CPSO has helped ensure this never happens to another patient. For all those defending him and victim blaming shame on you, unless you were in the room when the abuse happened you have no right to comment.

When you see a doctor, and you are devastated at the thought of the diagnosis you may be facing, you trust that everything that doctor wants you to do has a medical reason behind it. When you realize that’s not the case, it’s devastating. And if you hadn’t been so upset at the diagnosis you were facing, you’d have realised that it wasn’t right, that no other doctor had ever asked this of you. It’s hard to describe how it leaves you feeling. Disgusted, distrustful, taken advantage of, and so much more. So for those of you that say you can’t believe it, or he’d never do it, I’m happy you never experienced it.

Dr Sloka is by far the best doctor I have ever seen. I hVe seen a lot.

He does not give up on his patients or their health. He continues to search, help, and listen.

He is very professional, caring, and most importantly he listens, unlike so many other specialists.

The medical field is losing one of their best Dr's and so many patients are as well.

I wish him well in his retirement

It is not 2 women that have come forward. It is 5 women. I am one of them. Just because someone is nice to you does not mean they are incapable of abusing other patients. I get no pay out and will never reveal my name. My hope in coming forward was to stop the abuse I experienced from ever happening to another patient...

I am devastated to hear of Dr. Sloka's planned retirement. Dr. Sloka has been nothing but exceptional in my experience under his care. He has demonstrated all of the qualities I expect from a healthcare provider and more. It has been clear to me from the beginning that whether I'm in or out of his office, he remains devoted to improving the wellbeing of his patients. He has taken me at the last minute, arranging to see me out of his own time after closing; he has followed up with me on weekends and frequently after hours if there is information he thinks it important to share; and during consultations, he has always been kind, warm, understanding, and knowledgeable. He has always made an effort to actively engage me in the decisions he makes and took care to walk me through the rationale behind his choices related to my care.
I understand that these recent allegations are not to be taken lightly - the system is in place to protect patients from unethical and unlawful behaviour.
However, in my experience Dr. Sloka always took it upon himself to provide me with an exceptional quality of care, and for that I'm grateful. You will be sorely missed.

Doctor Sloka I am so sad to hear you are retiring. You helped me so much over the years and I am truly grateful. I wish you all the best and you will be missed by so many. When others said they couldn't help me you didn't give up on me. Thank you. Diana and Greg Briand.

Nothing but good things to say about Dr. Sloka and his receptionist. He is an intelligent caring, compassionate Doctor who always has his patient’s best interest at heart. He has always gone out of his way to address any questions or concerns with respect to my health. I do not have anything negative to say about Dr. Sloka.
