I was referred to Dr Gholamain by my own psychotherapist to be assessed for mental health and neurodiversity. I had been misdiagnosed 11 years prior and now with all my disability benefits up for medical review, needed a thorough and comprehensive assessment and in a timely manner. I had concerns surrounding childhood trauma and the subsequent presentation of challenges, depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation along with sensory overload, executive function deficits and other challenges seen with neurodiversity. I made this clear to Dr Gholamain in our first meeting along with my request that my psychotherapist be part if the process.
Being on disability, I had to go to family for the $2500 Dr Gholamain charged for the assessment. Given that I had significant and legitimate concerns of neurodiversity I thought we would begin the process there so that we could move through the remainder of the mental health assessment working with my challenges not against them. As we proceeded this was not done, even with my asking. Instead, Dr Gholamain showed repeated physical signs of impatience with me, fidgeting, shaking her legs as I fumbled through, triggering for me multiple meltdowns over multiple sessions. I would be so overwhelmed by the whole process, her behaviour and insensitivity I would have to flee her office to try and calm my system. She pressured me for time and repeatedly made me feel like I could not do the assessment right. Something that should NEVER happen in this process.
I found myself traumatized by her while talking about and reliving my childhood sexual abuse in her office.
When it came to the report, I found out she never bothered to assess for neurodiversity. I was expecting a questionnaire like portion to support that and asked about it and the neuro diverse stuff as well as asked to speak with my psychotherapist to confirm we were getting the services we requested because I had a uncomfortable feeling I was being misled. Dr Gholamain made promises, had me sign a consent form to communicate with my psychotherapist to appease me and placated me with a generic psychological test in the end.
I sat in my therapists office multiple times in tears over what this woman was doing, asking my psychotherapist to call her and make sure things were clear. Dr Gholamain never answered my psychotherapists multiple calls, regardless of my pleading.
In the end, when I received the report in session she dropped the bomb that she did not look at neurodiversity at all. I had a meltdown and fled her office. This was my fourth in her presence.
She finally spoke to my psychotherapist after the report was finalized and informed her that she decided in the first sessions that I did not need neurodiversity assessment at all. That all my issues were explainable by BPD.
I have since had to pay more money to other more reputable service providers and therapists and have been diagnosed with ADHD and identified as having Low Support Needs Autism.
I had 4 autistic meltdowns in Dr Gholamain's office because of her absolute refusal to acknowledge my neurodiversity while I was there asking for neurodiverse assessment. The two months following that final appointment with her were the worst in my life. I started losing 72-80hrs when triggered, and had to resort to unhealthy coping to hold on to my life until I could get appointments to be properly assessed.
Dr Gholamian left the country on vacation immediately after sending the report to my psychologist and never properly followed through with her.
Either this woman is highly incompetent or she saw an opportunity to exploit my naiveté which stems from my autism, either way her behaviour was disgusting, highly unprofessional, wildly incompetent and simply an atrocious abuse of power.
Do not spend your money, your insurance providers money or risk your own wellbeing with this woman. She should be reviewed by whatever governing board she reports too and stripped of her credentials.

Our experience was very good with respect to the psycho-educational evaluation of our teenager. She gained a good understanding of the needs and issues and her evaluation very much "made sense" to us and has helped us move forward. The office surroundings are professional, yet calm and relaxing. Her demeanour is friendly, professional, respectful and kind. Would recommend.

She seems to be easily manipulated by disordered personalities. This intensified the dysfunction and manipulation experienced at home.

She is too quick to draw conclusions (mostly the wrong ones) based on few therapy sessions. we did not have a good experience with her and her therapy advices did not help us fix the issues but intensified the situation.
