Horrible. Would not recommend especially if you are a veteran.

Brutally honest and straight to the point. If you are a fragile little flower sniffer be warned. I think he is brilliant, very experienced, honest and isn't scared of telling you the truth

Too quick to diagnose serious conditions such as bipolar without proper observation. Just wants to drug people.

Likes to victim blame and to call them person weak after dealing with tragic circumstances. Please if dealing with DVA do not go see this doctor and if you do get a second opinion.

A total fraud. Doesn't practice any form of psychotherapy, despite his claims. Extremely irresponsible prescriber. One minute he is willing to prescribe required medications for psychiatric and other health problems, then without any warning, refuses to prescribe at all. This type of behaviour is extemely dangerous for people with severe psychiatric issues. Highly unethical, and completely intolerant to any feedback. I am currently living a nightmare because I do have a psychiatrist now and I am unwell due to severe Complex PTSD. So much for signing a Hippocratic Oath to do no harm. My experience is dehumanising, destabilising, and extremely stressful. I encourage you to look elsewhere for a psychiatrist, and be sure to read all reviews first, which is the mistake I made.

Terrible. Doesn't understand that benzodiazepines should be gradually tapered off for those who don't need them, not abruptly stopped by someone who doesn't understand the muscles surrounding the Sacroiliac Joint that favour the area, causing the muscles to spasm, leadingto excruciating pain. All of this happened because my old medical centre, Mediwell in Coorparoo closed suddenly, forcing me to quickly find a new GP, while Dr Wong was on yet another holiday for this year. Of course, my new GP had to prescribe the medications that I was out of, but Dr Wong wouldn't listen at my last appointment this last Wednesday--he merely shouted over the top of me and said he couldn't prescribe the usual medications he prescribed anymore. Now, I am left as a complex, highly vulnerable patient with severe Complex PTSD, pulmonary embolism, plus recent liver and kidney failure, and zero continuityof care. This constitutes gross negligence, in my opinion. Absolutely disgusting. There's no care there at all. He just lives in Pfizor's pocket.

I’ve been under the care of Dr Patrick Wong for a few years now since 2015 and I could not speak highly enough about how he has helped me with my complex issues and shown genuine care about my treatment and how I am doing as a person. Dr Wong has a group of fantastic staff who are quick and friendly to arrange appointments, DVA paperwork and follow ups and they too are complete professionals. I have absolute faith in the treatment plans Dr Wong continues with me as he is always open to discussion regarding various types of treatment options and also keeps me informed about what to expect with medications and gives me a chance to discuss and provide feedback and choices regarding my treatment options. I’ve found Dr Wong to be highly professional, empathetic, highly knowledgeable and genuinely caring about his patients. I certainly recommend Dr Wong as I have never had any issues with appointments, DVA paperwork, medications or dosage levels and I feel he has always had my mental health recovery as a priority. This guy listens, shares his knowledge and keeps me informed every step of the way about what we are working to achieve and gives me ample opportunity to provide my opinion, is open to discussion about ideas I have as well to assist with my treatments. It is a combined effort to manage mental health and Dr Wong has never steered me in the wrong direction nor has he ever been anything but an absolute professional in my experience. We have moved to different medications at different doses on occasion over the years and trialled different treatment options at different times throughout my treatment journey but at no stage have I ever felt ignored or misinformed about the treatment types I have agreed to, I am always informed of the good and bad of every treatment option and medication type and he does not push certain treatments or medications on me. He listens, he knows his profession and he has always been open and honest about everything giving me complete confidence in my treatment. I certainly owe Dr Wong and his staff a huge thanks for all they have done for me over the years regarding my treatment. 5+ stars.

Hands down, I owe everything to Dr Wong taking me on. He is an outstandingly brilliant doctor who, for once in my life, treated me holistically instead of just treating me according to my diagnosis. He recognised a major error that my former psychiatrist had made and together, we made progress towards a better life for me. I can't wait unless my next appointment with him so he can see the pure joy I feel now, after years of being a walking zombie drugged to the eyeballs by my former psychiatrist. I feel listened to at last! I have complex mental health problems so I figured he would put me in the 'too hard basket' as others did, both in the public and private sectors. I've learned about triggers, brain chemistry, rewriting the narrative and also positive coping strategies. If it wasn't for COVID, I'd give the guy a great big hug! I have turned my life around for the better - thanks Dr Wong!

I was first a patient of consultant psychiatrist, Doctor Patrick Wong, in 2001. I first presented with Anorexia Nervosa, but it has since been determined that the diagnosis underlying my eating disorder is severe Complex PTSD due to extreme and protracted physical and emotional abuse that was perpetrated by my biological family of origin.

I have enormous respect for Doctor Wong: He is extremely knowledgeable, kind, empathic, non-judgemental, not to mention a very highly skilled consultant psychiatrist. Doctor Wong is the doctor who has seen me go through countless episodes of attempting to overdose on prescription drugs to try to kill myself in the early 2000s, and it was Doctor Patrick Wong who reasoned that we only have one life as we know it, and that we might as well stick around if the alternative is death in the sense of having no residual consciousness after death.

Doctor Wong's extremely helpful comment about making the best of what we have, is completely spot-on. Doctor Wong really motivated me to take stock and truly appreciate what I have, which is a roof over my head, a couple of very close friends, and many other things we might not be grateful for in the Western World because we can sometimes take our human rights in Developed Counties for granted. Doctor Wong is definitely the best psychiatrist I have ever seen, and that says a lot considering I have seen about 3 others since my 20s.

In my opinion, Doctor Wong is an extremely kind, knowledgeable, highly skilled, and a helpful psychiatrist with whom I have ever worked. He needs to be acknowledged for his extremely kind decision to bulk billing me besides am currently on a very tight budget due to COVID-19.

In summary, Doctor Patrick Wong is an outstanding consultant psychiatrist who consistently communicates unconditional regard for his patients. I greatly appreciate that Doctor Wong does Zoom therapy sessions, because due to the state of my mental health, I don't leave my house often.
