Before I returned to England, I saw Dr Villa for my CLL. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate. He makes you feel like you are his only patient. He listens to your questions and concerns and always has a clear plan. I have worked with many doctors during my career, and Dr Villa is definitely one of the best!

I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in March, 2020. In April 2020 I met Dr. Villa and was put at ease immediately during an extremely stressful and concerning time, with my health and the start of the pandemic. He took complete control, was straight forward and showed great compassion equally. He is simply to be trusted, he listens and values your own intuition. He wants to see his patients get better, this is his foremost goal. He is well read and educated on many subjects, not limiting his potential. Dr. Villa will tell you what is happening, why, when and where...he will order tests, scans etc to answer with science on what is going on inside your body and he will make and implement plan. Simply, if you are assigned to Dr. Villa, you are in extremely capable and good. hands. Could have not hoped for a better oncologist, surgical team.

Dr. Villa was my oncologist for several years after my tumor was removed.
When he was a member of a group of Drs. who received a research grant, my cancer history became part of the study.
He is very personable, very direct and an excellent communicator.
Anyone who is a patient of Dr. Villa can be assured he 'THE BEST'

Dr. Villa is experienced, confident, and compassionate. He walks into the room without a single paper in his hand and knows my entire history, what to look for on physical examination, and how to interpret recent investigations. He will often throw in some of his own humour to reduce stress from a difficult situation. We have worked through the ups and downs of my lymphoma for almost 8 years now, and I can't imagine a better partner to keep on keeping on. Regarding the comment from April 29, 2021, sounds like you both had a bad day, and don't forget there are always two sides to a story.

So here's the deal w Villa, agree with him, behave yourself, praise him and you will be fine..but don't you dare take control of your own health or he will ignore you or fire you as a patient in short Do not go to Villa if you want patient centred care. I think those who give him great reviews agreed with whatever he said because they were afraid to ask questions, stand out etc. during a time of extreme trauma. I saw him for treatment of lymphoma half way through my treatment when my doctor left. He was perturbed during our visit that I was asking questions, rolling his eyes etc. I forgot to ask him about a dose of drug that had changed and I politely returned to the clinic and asked if there was a convenient time to see him - A nurse told me to wait in the hall and when he came out he again rolled his eyes at me. He was the rudest doctor I have ever met! Then, as punishment for being such a bad patient for asking questions, he referred me to another doctor without consulting me and made his secretary tell me! If I weren't so stressed at the time I would have reported him to the college. It is all about Villa, not about you

Dr Villa is a gifted physician, able to communicate in terms comprehensible to a layperson the complications of lymphoma and its treatment. He is compassionate, attentive, and willing to answer every question. He has a striking sense of humour, matched only by his sense of duty. Prior to commencing my chemo, he twice visited me in the hospital in order to lay out in every detail I asked his diagnosis and treatment plans. Dr Villa is an exceptional and incredibly reassuring doctor. He makes no false promise of outcome, but exudes an order of confidence and warmth that most patients find deeply supportive. I have never known a physician more generous with his time, his analysis, and his kindness. A remarkable doctor.
