I did not have a good experience, the staff didn't seem to care and the eye exam was rushed. They kept pushing to buy glasses despite having a very limited selection. I do not recommend this optometrist and will be looking elsewhere.

We are sorry that you had an experience that did not meet your standards. We might have tried hard to help you look for glasses because we wanted to offer our best services, not to be pushy. We encourage our patients to tell us when we fall short of their expectations.
As far as you feeling the exam was rushed, the time allotted for the full eye exam is half an hour each and that's a full comprehensive vision and ocular health assessment. We never cut corners and try to be as thorough as possible.
We hope you give us another chance to try to serve you better.

Dr. Faten made a mistake in my prescription and she denied to see me again or return my money. I called 2 times and the receptionist promised to call me back but that never happened. Don't waste you time and money there

This comment is confusing as we do not recall any similar issue at our office. Besides, how can we have denied you seeing the doctor or refunding you if you claim that we failed to communicate back with you???
We take pride in our customer service and address each vision issue seriously and carefully.
Should a patient complain about their vision or glasses, they are to see our optician for an adjustment and to ensure the prescription is executed properly in their glasses. If the issue is not solved, they will be booked with Dr. Fares for a prescription recheck and that has been our office policy for the past 13 years.

I call it the afterglow; when you get home and you still feel happy for the great experience while interacting with a merchant, a firm, an optometrist! :) Well this is exactly what I've experienced while dealing with Dr. Fares and her staff. Dr. Faten Fares deserves all the high ratings. She is genuine. You can tell she cares. I highly recommend you make an appointment with her if you want an optometrist who is going to take the time to ensure your vision is improved. The staff are ok, your typical doctor's office staff.

I went to Dr. Fares for the first time this month and she was great. She took her time with me and recommended what I should to help with my dry eyes. The optician helped me pick out great glasses and they were ready within a week. I am very happy with the services I received from Dr. Fares and her staff, I would definitely recommend her to my friends and family in Ottawa!

Worst experience ever. Staff are incompetent and the doctor actually irritated my eyes even more versus helping me find the root cause to an on going eye issue. I would suggest seeing a different optometrist if you have any eye issues. If you’re seeing Dr. Fares for a simply eye exam you should be fine.

Biography

Dr. Fares received her Bachelors Degree in Sciences from the University of Ottawa in 1995. She then joined the school of Optometry at the University of Montreal to graduate with academic excellence in 1999. She has since practiced Optometry as a associate in several clinics in Quebec and Ontario. Dr Fares has been in her private clinic since 2005, where she takes pride in her profession. She makes sure her exams are thorough and her results are carefully communicated to the patients. Dr. Fares is fluent in many languages including French, English, Arabic, and Spanish.
