Dr. Filner is definitely a moody doctor. He yelled at me too, so I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one. When he has a rotating resident working within his office, he turns into a completely different doctor…quite pleasant. It’s rather apparent that he finds teaching medicine much more satisfying and fulfilling rather than practicing it. The only reason I still go to him is because his Medical Assistant's are the best I've ever come across. I've had so many problems at other practices getting things done, and they have always been on top of everything...referrals, authorizations, etc.

Dr. Filner is not a nice person. If you are looking for a doctor that is patient and friendly, look elsewhere. Most doctors lack a general personality, but Dr. Filner is incredibly rude. During a visit, he actually yelled at me. YELLED. Go out of your way to avoid him.

he was not on time he made us wait in the actual room for about 20 min and he was not very helpful and was very disrespectful towards my mother we were going to walk out. he was very unprofessional and he lacked a lot of people skills. i have never had to be at a doctors office for 2 and a half hours just for 2 shots and a referral.

Our family has been going to Dr. Filner for almost 2 years. He is quick, efficient, and talks to our kids and not just to us which we really like. His nurse is very nice and the kids love her. I don't think we've ever waited more than 10 minutes to see him, and it is very easy to get in to see him when we need to. He will explain anything you ask, but does not spend time on idle chitchat which some people may not like. His patient rooms all have computers in them, so if you get a prescription it will be automatically sent to the pharmacy of your choice which we really like. Less hassle for us.

I think doctor filner and staff are very considerate to patient needs, and very nice. I would recommend this doctor over any new 19 year old just being made into a doctor!

First impression was favorable, but if you catch him on a day when he is moody he takes it out on the patient. I've been in the exam room a few times and had to listen to him berate patients. His people skills are sorely lacking.

My husband started going to Dr. Filner when we moved from out of state. Thought he was okay, but not wonderful. The breaking point was when I called the office to relay some information about my husband. First they said Dr. Filner was gone for the day, but miraculously then he did get on the phone. I wasn't asking them to disclose any information, just trying to notify them of something, but they refused to listen, stating "HIPAA" regulations. Because of my husband's job, he was unable to call to notify them himself, which is why I was trying to. The fact that they were refusing to listen and just kept saying they couldn't talk to me because of HIPAA infuriated me. The next day I found a new doctor that we are absolutely THRILLED with. I will never again go to Dr. Filner.

This Doctor is excellent. My wife and I have been going to this doctor for years now and Dr. Filner is one of the few doctors left that really cares. I feel lucky to have him as my Doctor..
