Wow by far the worse doctor I have ever met or seen. He seemed like he was on crack or meth the man could not sit still was bouncing all over the place, he didn't seem to care, all he cared about was lecturing me on statistics which weren't even correct by moronic standards. What a quack! At the end he was very rude and disrespectful, he didn't allow me to talk all he did was talk over me then later treating me and kicking me out.

The absolute worst doctors visit every. I walked out feeling he didn't even listen to what i had to say. The receptionist was rude, she even hung up on me when i first called to make the appointment. This is most definitely the most unprofessional office i have ever been to.

Dr Filner is a no nonense Dr. I agree he can be a little overbearing, but he is very knowledgeable. He isn't a therapist so talking about issues not related to anything medical, he could really care less. It's not his field. So if you're overly sensitive, don't go. But if you want an honest answer without a lot of BS, then you're exactly where you need to be.

Ivan seems to be burned out, doesn't seem to care anymore. He was my Dr for a few years and is not at all the same person that I was first impressed by. He seems very frustrated by the current tax cuts, and health care changes. I feel he is taking it out on his patients and staff. Its so sad to see such a good doctor change for the worse.

I have used Dr. Filner as my primary care physician on and off over the past four years mostly out of laziness but I have had enough! First his office staff are very rude and not helpful at all. It takes forever to get a script filled or refilled. And despite the fact I've been on the same meds for ten years, I have to fight to get them filled every month with either him or his worthless staff! As for Dr. Filner himself he at least knows as much as a Dr. should but that's it. He has ZERO bedsise manner and treats patients like they are idiots or at least children. He doesn't listen, he acts like he's always rushed and doesn't care what input you have. He has also literally insulted me on numerous occasions. In short you are better off not seeing a Doctor than seeing Dr. Filner. I am not kidding.

I used to go to Dr. Filner and agree that he is definitely strange. He has no bedside manner. He KNOWS what he's doing as a doctor, but his personality will scare people off. My daughter was with me the 1st time I saw him, and she cried the entire time he was in the room.

Unfortunately I agree with the negative reviews. I also wonder that he may be overscheduling in order to increase income. He refused to renew my prescriptions and keeps insisting I see him every couple of months. Family members and friends have the same condition as I do and aren't told to see their doctors nearly that often. Rude, and I pay and wait for 2 or more hours so he can talk to me for 4 minutes and tell me to keep taking the medicine. One scrip doesn't work and he just keeps telling me to take it. He has refused to renew my scripts for medicine I need to stay healthy, now I've run out and I may have to go to the emergency room. Staff argues in person and on phone, nice when you pay. Positive reviews: check what insurance you have, maybe that's why he's nice to you. It's not about chatting or being a friend, it's about efficiency, listening, diagnosing and treating, not giving orders, jerking patients around and forcing you to pay more money. Looking for another doctor now.
