I've had the pleasure of having Dr. Lees follow me since 2002. He is very professional, compassionate and knowledgeable which is hard to find all in one doctor. He ensures you receive all the information you need and is eager to answer any questions to make you feel comfortable. He is widely respected in the medical community and has gone far out of his way to consult with other physicians to ensure his plan of action is the best approach. It'll be a sad day when this man retires in the next couple years. Thank you for being so great.

Dr. G.M. Lees helped our family deal with our daughter's minor procedure in the most professional manner. Although her procedure was minor, and really only necessary due to her special needs, he was the best. Our family is very grateful for his expertise, skills and his compassionate nature.

Was told by Dr.Lees himself many times that he would call today for results from a biopsy to see if my son has cancer. NO call whatsoever and apparently he's out of the country on holidays! As a mother i'm frozen in fear and cant move. I've been waiting by the phone all day, not sleeping. We aren't talking results for strep throat here, it's cancer! I'm in absolute shock at the lack of professionalism in my situation.

Dr. Lees is one of the most talented surgeons I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with. He did emergency surgery on my seven year old daughter and she absolutely worships him. He has all the time in the world for his patients! Edmonton, and especially the University Hospital/Stollery Children's Hospital are so fortunate to have such a gifted surgeon on staff.

Dr. Lees is by far one of the best surgeons, I first met him when I was 4 when I was diagnosed with with hundreds of thousands of polyps in my large intestine from beginning to end. I was the youngest that anyone had heard of having this. I had my first surgery when I was 9 to remove my whole large intestine and have a colostomy, had it reversed at 10. Then at 16 had more issues with my intestine and had another colostomy done, at 17 I was able to reverse it. He was amazing, and made me so comfortable, and answered every single question I had about everything, he gave me his personal email so I could email him any questions or concerns I had because it is so hard to get in to him. I recently started having problems with my gallbladder and emailed him. He had me in for testing within a week, and 2 months later I was booked and had my gallbladder removed. He made sure I knew everything about the surgery, and warned me that he may needed to do it the old fashion way. I don't know if I would still be here completely cancer and polyps free because of this man. I have him to thank my life. I make sure everyone knows about him. Thank you Dr. Lees. You are an amazing surgeon.

I owe my life to a few doctors and one is to Dr. Lees. I was lucky to have him operate on me when I was sick with a very rare form of colon cancer at the age of 19. Being that I was the 35th case in the world they didn't know what to expect but handled it like pros. Then again he was the one that removed my gallbladder after several other surgeons wouldn't go near me with a ten foot pole. I became desperate to get my health and life back, so I sent him a personal email and low and behold he contacted while he was in Africa working. He set up an appointment and scheduled me in for surgery with out a question, when he got back to Canada. He saved my life and saved me from being in enormous amounts of pain during some of the hardest times in my life. He even came to visit me in my home town up in Dawson City, Yukon. Believe me when I say you can trust this man with his knife and your life any day of the week.

Our family has been very fortunate to have Dr. Lees operate on my husband twice in less than 2 months. I have worked with medical doctors in my past and can honestly say Dr. Lees exemplifies everything that is deemed to be good within his profession. He is highly skilled at his craft, warm, responsive, and empathetic-which I find sometimes lacking in this field. Dr. Lees checked on my husband everyday including weekends and even called us on Christmas Eve at home to see how my husband was doing. We have never had such great care from any medical professional and feel truly grateful for having been under his care.
