Dr Theo ,Has always been kind and caring ,while at the same time knowing when you need some tough love . After stays in New Farm clinic over times since the early 90's in and off over approx 20 years .Theo also worked in with Doctors on the Sunshine Coast when I would go to Buderim as home and my family are on the Sunshine Coast. I always look at a Doctor's office as a good indicator and Theo has patients paintings ,drawing and pottery decorating his office to me that indicates a personal connection. When you are unwell you never agree with everything recommended,but I have always been treated with respect by Theo .And Allison is just lovely always polite ,just a lovely caring person . Thank you

Dr Theo looked after me when I had anorexia in the 1990's. I found him to be such a gentle and caring doctor. Without his and the nurses care at both PA & New Farm Clinics, I would possibly not be here today. I hope he gets to have a long and happy retirement whenever he decides to give up work. I think this was the Dr I saw. I think this Dr is very clever, expert, knowledgeable and caring. However at the time I was extremely distraught, so I swore as I left the clinic.

Made it clear that he didn't have the time or the inclination to treat me. Laughed openly at the fact I would be going home to an abusive situation which would land me back in hospital (which it did). Constantly reminded me that I was there as a favour to another doctor and that he doesn't have time for new clients. Made me feel like an inconvenience and a burden, exactly what one needs in a psychiatrist dealing with vulnerable people. I could not condemn this man more as a practitioner, his actions were unprofessional and extremely damaging. He needs to retire before he hurts anyone else.

Perspective of a transgender patient

I was passed off from Fiona Bisshop who I had been told did informed consent to Dr. Michael Theodoros. Though he's quite friendly and personable his approach and views were outdated and at times offensive. He misgendered other patients to me and I could immediately see that despite some initial acknowledgement of non-binary experiences he wasn't going to prescribe me anything any time soon if I didn't sculpt my past into the kind of traditional narrative he was expecting. Literally got the whole "what toys did you play with as a young child" thrown out there, and even with my bland "well a lot of different ones and I liked video games" answer I could tell it wasn't helping my case so much as if I'd lied and said I was super into cars and trucks and boy stuff. Plus when I said something about not wanting a beard he said I wouldn't pass without one.

So, yeah, maybe you'll be fine if you fit into the traditional binary trans narrative, but if you can see anyone else you should. It's really fortunate that I saw a supportive psychologist before I went to Dr. Theodoros because I can imagine the damage he would have done if I weren't so sure of what I wanted and just using him to get a prescription (not to mention the monetary cost).
