When cancer happens, to your or to your family member, it's scary. You don't know what is more scary than this knowledge. Then you prepare to fight. You don't know how long and difficult it can be, but you believe you will overcome this.
When we met Dr. Glenns, we thought she is like any other doctor, a doctor that helps you with a series of procedures that follow one after another. At one moment you realize she is not just a doctor, she is the same fighter as you are, somedays more than you. With numerous hopes and failures to defeat cancer, you all of a sudden have a friend who's on your side , that's not indifferent and is real. I do not know how Dr, Glenns with sharing the best of herself manages to avoid burn out but I would say she is more than just a doctor and you are blessed for her to persist representing her true essence.

Dr. Glenns is an awesome doctor. She is experienced in taking care of cancer patients. She keeps a close monitor on my treatment. When there's a problem with my health, she would arrange scans and contact other specialists to give me the best treatments. She even make calls after office hours to make sure I am okay. Thank you for taking very good care of me, Dr. Glenns.

I don't know why Dr Glenns get good reviews from some of her patients! She's rude & doesn't care about her patients feelings, at least my feelings! Doesn't she realize we see her because we have cancer and we are scare, helpless and seeking for reassurance & advices. She doesn't listen and only throw info onto you, then finished the appointment. Very disappointed with this doc!

I just "graduated" from cancer treatment with Dr. Glenns as my oncologist and I would praise her to the skies. Professional, knowledgable, thorough and caring. I always knew I was in safe hands and I am eternally grateful to her.

I first met Dr. Glenns in July 2015. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. Throughout my cancer fight, Dr. Glenns is always there to help guide me. She is a straight shooter and explains the tests / results in language you will understand. Dr. Glenns takes the time to listen to you as I have never felt like a number. I feel like a human being. I am shown compassion, empathy, encouragement and honesty. When Dr. Glenns heard me struggling mentality, she suggested talking to a psychiatrist. I have told Dr. Glenns over the years I trust her with my life.

I think you know when your doctor is exceptional when your worst day is getting discharged by your oncologist.

That’s my story with Dr. Vivianne Glenns.

She came into my life 9 years ago during the darkest most challenging of times. I inherited her as part of a medical team to save my life. And quickly, she became the seatbelt to my ride. And I emerged on this difficult journey under her guidance and supervision. We made decisions regarding my chemotherapy treatments. She taught me how to push through at times when I felt completely defeated and when it was time to let go of specific medications we worked together as a team and conversation and intelligence until we were able to make the proper judgment call. Over the past 9 years, I’ve spent endless in person and on the phone conversations with her regarding my medical conditions on so many levels. Her secretary Sima was very instrumental in connecting us and making sure the appointments were orchestrated in ample time. I absolutely adore her and it just enhanced my doctor patient experience.

So, as thrilled as I am to have kissed cancer goodbye, I couldn’t hold back the tears on my last conversation with Dr. Glenns as she formally medically discharged me and I quote in her words “I have way too many sick people Annette to justify this phone conversation. I hope I will never have to see you again but if I do please know that my door is always open and I am just a phone call away”.

I’ve met a lot of people in my breast cancer journey. But Dr. Vivianne Glenns is a person I was privileged to have encountered in my lifetime. May god bless her and her incredible work in the cancer world. And may she continue to save lives and make the world a better place.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
With deepest gratitude,
Annette

I was diagnosed in 2018 and for two full months before my OncoTypeDX Score came in, lived in the uncertainty of what I would be facing. I saw many doctors during that time, and since, and I have to say that I've never come across anyone so empathetic, loving AND knowledgeable at the same time. She took painstaking time to explain my situation and all my choices. She showed me diagrams and defined words. She asked me how I was. She acknowledged my emotional pain. I think Dr. Glenns treats everyone with the same loving kindness and respect, whatever their diagnosis. She is an exceptional doctor and an exceptional human being. Dr. Glenns is the example of the ideal medical professional. I also want to acknowledge Sema, who manages the office. On at least 10 occasions, Sema took my call and spent a lot of time taking notes - using my exact words - to write a message for Dr. Glenns. She was kind, respectful and incredibly caring. Through my whole experience, Dr. Glenns and Sema were my safe haven. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been their patient.

Under the care of Dr. Down at North York General Hospital, I saw Dr. Glen‘s for my chemotherapy. The triple negative breast cancer I felt so safe under her care. She attacked it aggressively and I am grateful that she did. She was incredibly helpful and knowledgable and I had such a successful outcome with her.

As I write this my wife is finishing her journey and battle against cancer (triple negative metastatic breast cancer). About 10 years ago a doctor in 3West was leaving the room and asked me “do you want a priest or rabbi now ?” I was floored. Like all of you I was in disbelief, so I sought out Dr Glenns. She told me emphatically “going to make it through this one” She was right. My wife won that round.
Unfortunately, I got to know Dr. Glenns very well. Unfortunate because when you get to know someone like her, in that job, the endings are seldom what you want. However, I can think of no one I would rather have on our side. My wife, the important one here, trusted Dr Glenns implicitly, with out question and grew to love her.
I read some comments here and I had to check if maybe there was another Dr Glenns because some do not relate to the doctor I got to know.
I see that the biggest issue seems to be punctuality. REALLY? All my life I have lived by the credo if you’re not 15 minutes early, you are late. That went out the window when hospitals, doctors, ER’s and the rest became our lives. Look at it this way, the hospital is the LAST place that you want to be the center of attention with staff hoovering around you anxiously. That MEANS you are nearly dead! So, Dr Glenns kept you waiting for an hour on the 8th floor, you know why, because MY WIFE was distressed and scared and Dr Glenns was spending more than the allotted 14 1/2 minutes that management allows her per patient. The next week we WAITED longer, WHY, because YOU were the one talking and asking questions for too long.
Same with “Oh she’ll call during the day” if the say “she’ll call at 10:15 and the call is 10:45, some of you scream. What if you are the one in the office talking and at 10:14 and Dr Glenns abruptly says “sorry gotta make a phone call, see you soon” IT’S CANCER treatment, it is your life, it is my wife’s life and unfortunately trying to fit it into a time frame that appeases some of your sensibilities does not work.
Dr Glenns appeared at the hospital bedside at nine one night saying “I really wanted to check in on you and I just finished everything else” do you think my wife said “go away, it is after hours” ?
Clinical trials, yeah, we were there too. IF you falsely got your hopes up to even get accepted to something like that, never mind it actually working then I am sorry to be harsh, but you simply do not understand your situation. The trials are NOT in the hands of Dr Glenns in any way.
If you are here reading this, you are scared and on the precipice of a daunting journey that for too many will not end well. For some perspective, I am the quintessential bombastic red neck. I have been a chef most of my career, but I have also worked on railway gangs, been in an army, owned a black bear hunting lodge off grid. I am NOT your pootsy mootsy kind with 7 ticky tocky, inyourface, or tweetybird accounts, this is the first review I have ever composed in my 66 years and I got here because my wife wanted Dr Glenns home address to send a gift of thanks and appreciation, I found this instead.
Dr Glenns is a truly phenomenal person and she has made my wife’s last months tolerable and when you know you are dying, THAT is an achievement. Dr Glenns never gave up until even I, the bear hunting chef I am knew it was time. The complaints here, well as the cancer gnaws away at your life, you tend to forget the world continues. I thank Dr Glenns with all I can for what she has done for my wife.
Be strong as you face your own battle and know that cancer fears Dr Glenns
thank you Dr Glenns
