I was a patient of doctor Amaladoss for years. On my, what turned out to be my second last visit, he informed me that he was retiring, at the end of the following month.
He didn’t give me a referral, and said I no longer required a psychiatrist. He didn’t even ask my thoughts on the matter. He left me high and dry, with no continuing care

He has saved my life and sanity and my husband's. I don't know where I would be without his expertise.

Definitely concerned and follows through. I would definitely recommend. Very informative and show's he cares about his patients. I appreciate the follow up calls and always on time. I also appreciate investing the time to help solve any problem you may face and offer any advice to help. I appreciate the sincerity and time he dedicates. That is very hard to find to be honest.

After decades of improper diagnoses, incorrect medications, money wasted on therapy ... I finally got some answers and am on the right kind of medication. It has been completely life altering. I cannot thank Dr. Amaladoss enough.

Seemed nice enough but was not helpful. I was sent to him for a diagnosis... he told me he was "an expert diagnostician", asked me a few vague question and then I was given 2 quizzes that might as well have come out of Cosmo. I was not impressed at all. I went in very prepared due to memory issues and he kept telling me how smart I was... I wasn't there for an IQ test. I spent 40 min in the room. I received a vague diagnosis that did not take my history of childhood abuse, an assault or a home invasion into account at all. He ignored my concerns regarding complex PTSD and slapped a generic "personality disorder" label on me because of my 5 minute quiz answers and told me to take 2 medications without explaining why or what they were for. I refused his medication suggestions. I asked about Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and he went back to talking about medication and re-visited the "you are so smart" weirdness. I waited 9 months to get into this "expert" to have to return to my doctor to get on another waiting list for a different facility for actual care and have now moved to St Joe's in Hamilton where they take diagnosis and complete history seriously allotting 1 hr for intake and 3 hours for history and diagnosis. I would not return to Dr Amaladoss under any circumstance. (I gave staff a 3 because I had only checked in with the receptionist who passed me a form to fill out so I can't speak fairly in regard to their competence.)

Dr Amaladoss is pleasant at first but when challenges arise and other opinions and methods are brought forward he is defensive. Too many suggestions from the patient will result in discharge. Takes extended time off in the summer and prone to cancelling appointments at the last minute and rescheduling a month or so later for no apparent reason.

I have been seeing Dr. Amaladoss for over a year now, quite supportive and caring and has given out good advice and treatment options. It is difficult to find a psychiatrist nowadays that will follow up with a person for a longer term, I know because I work in health care! I appreciate that he continues to do so for me. He is quite nice and listens attentively.
