I just saw Dr Markland in Melfort today and she took a lot of time with me and did exrays and blood work. She was very warm and freindly and made me feel at ease. She answered every question and i didn't feel rushed at all. She seems very knowledgeable and will be going back to her.

This has got to be the worst doctor I've seen yet, she seems like you are an inconvience to her and wasting her time, but me waiting for over an hour to be seen for 10 minutes isn't a waste of my time, I would never go back to her.

Ive been seeing Dr. Markland for about 3 years now and she has been very helpful. Ive never had to wait very long, not as bad a some places, and shes always been soft spoken and friendly with me and my husband. She also helped me with my son.She has never pushed any type of meds on med and has suggested different kinds of homeopath treatments, but the way I see it, I would rather do that if it will work, than fill my body with drugs I dont need. I have and still will reccomend her to people.

Always late..very rude and has no thoughts of treating the 'whole person'. If the patients questions do not suit her time frame, knowledge or are about anything regarding alternate treatments they are ignored or simply dismissed as irrelevant. I definitely will be finding another Rheumie with more knowledge than her 'standard' immune system devastating drugs.

Without tests of any kind, Dr. Markland told my husband he had an extremely rare disease with drastic prognosis -- when more symptoms appeared she denied her first diagnosis (even though she had written of that diagnosis to our family doctor), accused us of "lying" and made another totally off the wall diagnosis of equal severity and prognosis. Fortunately, that diagnosis was also incorrect. She was able to diagnose these diseases without any testing and without my husband so much as removing his jacket. It was a much worse than useless endeavour, going to her office, one I would never repeat.

I had heard many negative comments before I even went the first time. I chose to go anyway and give her the benefit of the doubt. I found this Doctor to be simply useless. I had questions that I needed answered, but got nowhere quickly as she was in a hurry. I am a newly diagnosed (very young) osteoporosis and arthritis patient. I have gone from very active to not at all. I explained to her my frustrations as to why this is happening and she said that 90% of all woman have chronic back pain and to basically get over it. She stood for the appt which told me she wasn't planning on being in there for long. NEVER again.

Dr. Markland misdiagnosed my grandmother's broken hip as mild arthritis & told her to take tylenol. The pain got worse and worse, so we called back dr.'s office, & Dr. M said Grandmother was just complaining. We went to Emergency, where they diagnosed her with a broken hip, which they said had been broken for a few days at least - & missed by Dr. Markland. Grandmother had to have her hip replaced.

I have been seeing Mr. Markland for approx. 4 years. I am still in a lot of pain. She does not answer many question and was very rude to my boyfriend for asking questions. It seems that she does not like to explain alot. To me she just does not care that you are in a lot of pain. I feel she needs to take more time with her patients and care more. I am from out of town so I have to get someone to take me to Saskatoon to appt's that seem a waste of time. On my last appt.; I was sent home with no drug written on my prescription and paper work filled incorrect which delayed my drugs and coverage to get the drugs. Also she wanted me to come back to Saskatoon just to take the needle (Humira). When you are in a lot of pain the extra stressors do not help. I feel she should be there to help us not make us feel like we are taking up her time. More information and being more understanding would be nice.
