do not believe the hype about this guy at all. Maybe he is good depending on what your situation is. When I went to him he rushed in and out. He did not even take the time to look over my problem, instead he only gloated about how he knew what he was doing and how good he is. I hate when a doctor says I think...instead of looking over things and saying I know. When asking a question, he makes you feel as if you are waisting his time or its a dumb question. My situation was not resolved and I ended up going elsewhere with better results. I gave him a chance after this happened twice. In my book three strikes you're out. If your doctor cannot take the time to explain things to you, go else where. Not a good feeling to walk out confused.

I have had multiple knee surgeries with various orthopedists over the years. Dr. Ekman is by far the best. I have total trust in his judgment and abilities as at surgeon. He takes the time to explain procedures and leaves plenty of time to address any questions. He has been instrumental in getting me back to the active lifestyle that I enjoy.

I had 2 appointments prior to my knee surgery and saw the PA, Eric, both times. I never met the Doctor until I was being prepped for surgery. Post-op visits were also with Eric. When I was released 3 months later, the Doctor came in, spent about 2 minutes with me, & released me. When I asked questions, his answers were short, curt & inadequate. He made me feel like my own interest in my knee & recovery, etc. were unimportant & that he didn't have even a few minutes to address my questions. 1 year and 3 months later, my knee is not any better than before surgery. Workers Comp sent me back to him for another look at my knee. Once again, I saw a PA first, & then the Doctor rushed in, asked a couple of questions, said I need another MRI, & rushed out without taking time to listen to my questions or concerns. This is a Workers Comp injury, but he agreed to treat me & is being paid so he should take a few minutes to hear my concerns. Disappointed in his lack of compassion surgery results.

Would not recommend for anyone who has a serious injury. Not on time, did not review films, and he seemed more interested in prescribing medication then treating my injury.

His assistant, Eric performed an interview and attempted exam before the doctor arrived for my appointment. His approach was to pull my arm above my shoulder which caused extreme pain. When he was not able to raise my arm above my shoulder, he asked me why I was resisting him. At the time, I had a herniated disc that caused swelling and shoulder pain. Dr Ekman was nice, but said that he could not help me since he specialized in knee recovery. His staff should not attempt to examine patients without his direct supervision.

Lots of experience in sports injuries. Rehab facilities on-site were very good. Staff is helpful.
