I have been a client at 8 west for awhile now getting botox and fillers. However I noticed that injections can only do so much and that is when I decided to get an upper blepharoplasty with Dr Buonassisi.
There was just too much excess skin causing my eyes to look tired.
It has been several weeks now since my procedure and my eyes look incredible and rejuvenated.
The recovery was easy & quick , the staff at 8 west was amazing.

I am a 55+ male that had developed many creases and skin folds under my eyes in recent years. During a consultation with Dr. Buonassisi, he felt that he could improve upon my situation through a lower blepharoplasty to remove the excess skin while performing an orbicularis hitch to prevent gapping of my lower eyelid by suspending the underlying muscle.

My goal was to look “less tired” and “like myself” again. To set appropriate expectations, Dr. Buonassisi emphasized a goal of improvement as opposed to perfection. In the end, I believe my results are much better than what I had imagined as a possible best-case scenario.

I underwent an initial surgery (twilight anesthesia at surgical hospital), and then a follow-up revision (local anesthesia at 8 West clinic) on one eye about 12 months later (6 months later would have been possible at my choice). The initial surgery went well and provided a dramatic transformation and significant improvement. However, Dr. Buonassisi and I both agreed that one eye still had more room for improvement by removing some additional excess skin. Incredibly, Dr. Buonassisi insisted that he perform this revision at no extra expense to me. I really feel like this kind and professional consideration was above and beyond.

The need for a revision was not a failure of the initial surgery. In fact, it was a success because Dr. Buonassisi had been purposefully conservative by preferring the possibility of a post-surgery situation that would be easier to revise. Because the starting points for both of my eyes had been quite different, one eye had much more skin to remove, and this necessitated some caution to find the right balance. The reason for this is that 5 years ago, I experienced facial palsy that temporarily paralyzed one side of my face, and this created long term asymmetries and muscle tone differences between both sides of my face. I find it amazing how well Dr. Buonassisi overcame this issue for me.

In addition to being a skillful surgeon, Dr. Buonassisi is highly personable and caring with sincerity. His explanations are straightforward and there is no sense of pressure at all. Along the way from consultation through surgery, there are many points of contact with many members of his excellent staff – all very kind and helpful. Communications were all handled efficiently, and everyone was highly understanding and responsive to all my questions.

I had my upper eyelids done with 8 West Clinic a year ago and I am so happy I did it. Follow up photo checks have all went smoothly and the team provides fantastic service. Quick to respond and they definitely do their best to address all my questions.

I was referreed to Dr. B by one of the surgical nurses that regularly assists him in the OR; I could not think of a better recommendation as she assists other local surgeons as well. From the original consultation to the final visit I was treated with the best care I have ever experienced. Caroline (Dr. B's nurse) was my contact person, prior to and after surgery. She kept me feeling safe and taken care of. Meagan (Surgical Tech) was always there to answer any questions I had during my recovery. After surgery I had regular appointments with Andrea to help with the recovery. Her sunny smile and positive attitude definitely kept me smiling. Seems funny to say but I will miss seeing everyone that I have had the pleasure to meet during my appointments.

I highly recommend Dr buonassisi he recently did my rhinoplasty and the entire process was very pleasant.
Consultation : 10/10 I left having a very good idea of what my results would look like and what to expect. A lot of doctors have non refundable consultations fees dr B was refundable which was so good incase some one changes their mind there is no pressure to have to keep ur consultation.
Staff: i worked with mica and Megan who were 10/10 also they responded to emails and calls immediately and guided me through the entire thing which was so nice to have
Surgery : the surgery date went so smooth I went in and out without the slightest hiccup and was very well taken care of
Dr B came in and talked to before I went in and just went over once again what we were doing.
Recovery : this was honestly the best part I was so scared and was expecting to be in a lot of pain but that was not the case at all I also had very minor bruising and bleeding which was so amazing.
Results : I went to get my cast off and even with all the swelling I still loved my results and don’t even have any scars from the incision u can’t even tell I had any work done.
Overall thoughts anyone who is considering getting any facial procedures done dr buonassisi is def your guy.

8 West Clinic has been amazing and all I wanted for my rhinoplasty. The staff and medical team provided great after care and I had a few follow up appointments during my healing. It was reassuring to know that Dr Buonassisi always kept my goals and interests in mind throughout the process.
