This is an caring and amazing surgeon. He spent 7 hrs operating on me so I could retain my colon. Because of him I have a normal life.

I sought Dr. Wexner out to perform my surgery based upon his qualifications. Although he met me at the intial surgical consultation, I hardly saw him while in the hospital or after my surgery. I had numerous, mutliple, and very serious complications from the surgery that he performed, yet I was attended to by his medical residents and fellows. He is very uncaring and highly arrogant in his brief and cursory interactions with you post-surgery. There are many other excellent and compassionate colo-rectal surgeons in South Florida. Stay away from this one.

I recently had a painful anal fistula upon which Dr Wexner and his team performed the appropriate surgery. He exudes knowldedge and experience, and is so recorgnized by his peers. Allow me to note that the few negative ratings by others has to do with a Colon Rectal Surgeon and his team of surgical residents inspecting your Colon and your rectum in order to save your life and those of others after you. They are not there to hold your hand and give you a spa treatment. If you have to put your pants down in front of a doctor so what? It's not like you intended to meet him for coffee in the first place. I have nothing but the highest regard for Dr. Wexner and his thorough knowledge of this complicated part of the human body in order to bring wellness and prolong and save life.

After an ostomy by the S.W. Sergical group ,hospitalized for 33 days in Lee county I developed Mersa ,sepsis, malnutrition., my intestines were twisted my wife was told I would die. She E-mailed many doctors and got to DR Wexner , in India & he said send me to Cleveland Clinic . Two days later he scheduled me immediately for surgery . Before he opened me up he said don’t worry he would fix it and send me home. He helps as many peoples as possible so he dose not excel in bed side manor but he takes the most difficult cases and saves lives. He is always teaching students as he makes his rounds and the more like him the better the world will be. When he opened me up he found a gangrenous gall bladder as well as twisted intestines & a badly decomposed duct his team got together & put me back together. He preformed my reversal & repaired the hernias that developed since my incision would not heal after being opened up twice. If he did not respond from India I would be dead.

I was utterly humiliated by this doctor. We flew in from out of state because he was supposed to be the expert in my particular condition but upon meeting him it was apparent he did not want to help us, seemed bothered by us asking questions and was defensive and rude the entire visit. He brought in all his students in this tiny room. I had to ask them to leave and he proceeded to direct his assistant and other med student to get the table ready. She threw a small sheet on me and the doctor started pulling down my pants and underwear without my permission. I was given no consideration or privacy to change and get in position without everyone looking. I was so appalled that I could not proceed with the exam and it looks like it was a good thing I didn't since others have mentioned a painful exam. He has his residents scared of him that no on is there to advocate for the patient. I thought Cleveland Clinic would be like Mayo but it is the worst experience I have ever had.

The worst doctor I've been to in my life! Very late, extremely cold and aloof, seemed uninterested and told me he could do nothing for my condition. He proceeded to send me a letter stating a bunch of recommendations which he never told me about during the visit. I believe when I told him how he had wasted my time and money he wanted to cover himself legally and sent me a bogus note acting as if he listened or cared about my condition. I waited for almost 3 hours in the waiting room-please go elsewhere. There are many fine doctors in Broward County.

I cannot conceive of another colorectal surgeon whose knowledge and skills approach those of Dr. Steven Wexner. I have read the comments of some other patients and can only say that their experience and mine are of two different worlds. Yes, residents or other medical professionals are in the room when you are consulting with Dr. Wexner. Cleveland Clinic is a teaching hospital in which Dr. Wexner plays an important role. No, he is not a man of many words. But his words are sufficient to display great knowledge and confidence. What more does a patient really need? Cleveland Clinic practices on a team basis. The team Dr. Wexner leads is nothing if not superb. I am a fairly demanding person. There is no question whatever in my mind that Dr. Steven Wexner met every one of my expectations and then some.

I wish I would've read these ratings before I wasted my time with this man who honestly thinks he is God. My husband and I rented a car, drove 4 hours and stayed in a hotel just to see this Dr. because apparently he is "the best". He had the poorest quality bedside manner I've ever seen, and I'm a nurse! He came in with his entourage of 15 med students behind him (didn't ask permission if it was ok to have one student, never mind 15). He barely looked at us. He kept cutting me off during my sentences, he actually began texting on his cell phone when my husband was trying to ask him a question. He told me he was going to examine me and I had to take my pants off in front of the 15 med students and him (under a sheet-but still!) He was in and out of the room in 5 minutes!!!! He told me to get two tests that I've already had and then to come back. No thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr Wexner is an expert in colorectal disease. He succeeded where my previous doctor left me with a fistula. I am cured after approximately 5 years of misery. I owe him a lot.
