I truly hated my experience with her and I left the room in tears. She wasn’t my Ob but I had to see her in my final week of pregnancy because my original Ob happened to be on holiday. It was my first pregnancy and she was so condescending towards me. She kept answering my questions with questions and made me feel so stupid for not knowing the answers to the stuff I was asking. She literally said “ I know this is your first pregnancy but you should be more curious”. Even when I asked for clarification and confirmation on simple things like where I would need to do my stress test, she would ask; “don’t you know the hospital you’ll be delivering.” I knew the hospital but it being my very first pregnancy I assumed it was a test it could be carried out at Glazier Medical centre and I wouldn’t have to go to Lakeridge. It would have been nice if she had politely just confirmed this and not made me feel so stupid for asking. She went on to ask me what day I’d like to be induced: being a first time pregnant woman, I had no idea the choice was mine. I thought Ob’s with their expertise would tell you, when I expressed this, and finally chose, she told me that my choice wasn’t the safest and that two days earlier would be better. So why did she ask me to choose then after I had told her that I wasn’t sure what was best just to tell me my choice was bad? I could go on and on but the experience was overall very terrible and I hope I never have to encounter her again.

Dr. Sun delivered both my children via C-section. I have had other medical treatments with her and she is always caring, courteous and knowledgeable. I am now taking my teenage daughter to see her! If you get the opportunity to have her treat you, take it.

Dr. Sun is the best doctor. I have seen her for both of my pregnancies (over 40 years old) and she has helped me with a recent miscarriage. She is super knowledgeable, kind and you never feel rushed. Whenever I mention she is my doctor everyone knows her and raves about how wonderful she is. Julie is also super!. Highly recommend her.

I recently had an appt with Dr. Sun to figure out why, after a year of going off the pill, I still had no period. I had been on birth control for 17 years and wanted to go off of it after doing a lot of research and hearing Ted talks from doctors explaining that women should not be on birth control for longer that 7 years max, as there are a lot of negative consequences that can stem from being on hormones for that long, which you can look up if you don't already know. Anyways, all of my blood work came by fine, my hormone levels were in the normal range, but I told Dr. Sun that I switched to a low carb diet (~50 g/per day) to help with my anxiety, which was working by the way, and that I used intermittent fasting daily (following the 16/8 method). I explained that there has been research suggesting that low carb diets and fasting can negatively affect a women's cycle, but I've also listened to doctors who have said the exact opposite; claiming that both of those lifestyle choices are good for balancing female hormones. So I asked for her opinion. She said, " I have no idea how diet and fasting affect female hormones". I could not believe my ears! Dr. Sun is suppose to be a specialist. There is so much research out there, on how diet and fasting affect female hormones. She also suggested I go back on females hormones, via an IUD, to get my period back - she wasn't concerned with addressing the root cause, or maybe she didn't know how. Over the years I have realized that many doctors here in Ontario do not keep up with the latest research, which is unfortunate, as I feel that we get sub-par health care. I understand that in a country with universal health care, maybe there is no incentive to stay up on the latest research and become a better doctor, because there is no competition in this country, our doctors will always have patients no matter what. Furthermore, Dr. Sun was cold, delivered quick responses, talked at me (instead of listening), and even wrote a sad face on my prescription. I found her unprofessional, not helpful, or knowledgeable. I wanted to give Dr. Sun the benefit of the doubt, as maybe she was having a bad day, but then I recently was speaking with some girlfriends and brought up my terrible experience with Dr. Sun, and they knew who she was right away, as they had also heard bad stories from other women in Durham who have went to see her.

Dr. Christina Sun is such an amazing OB. I am currently still a patient with her as I am 36 weeks pregnant. Every visit I have she always has such great bed side matters. She is very empathic and understanding as well. She has listened carful to all my questions and concerns. I love how how knowledgeable she is and most importantly how she doesn’t sugar coat anything. She is an excellent doctor. I would highly recommend her and her staff at the clinic.

I had an IUD inserted by Dr. Sun. I was so nervous going into this as it was my first time, but as soon as she walked in and started talking, I felt at ease. She walked me through everything, answered all of my questions, and even told me how to breathe so that I didn't overexert myself. The nurse receptionist was also very kind and efficient, checking on me post-insertion to make sure I was feeling alright. Overall, I was very happy with the experience and will definitely go back to Dr. Sun's office.

Dr. Sun is fantastic! She is a wealth of knowledge and thorough.

Dr. Sun was extremely warm and sensitive towards myself and my husband during our whole pregnancy. She made our entire experience memorable. She has patience and answers every question with respect, even if they seem silly to me. I would highly recommend her to anybody!!!

I came to her for a simple maintenance issue...she is cold and negative and said things that have nothing to do with anything that was relevant to the issue at hand. She contradicted my top-notch gyne surgeon at Sunnybrook and said negative things about the procedure I am going to have there. I was not visiting her for that reason and I really think she is petty and jealous of my surgeon who is very successful.

Dr Sun is an amazing doctor, she is very comforting and knowledgeable. As a gynecologist she has exceptional bedside manner. I'm very lucky to have her as my doctor!
