Dr. Laurie Wherrett is one of the best, kindest physicians I've ever met. She took the time to review and understand my medical history before our first appointment, even though there was a lot to get through. She has been my surgeon for several biopsies and two different outpatient procedures. She is professional and thorough, warm and personable. I feel like I'm a human being to her, not just a set of symptoms.

I have seen Laurie for several things incl. surgery for removal of my gallbladder. I would honestly give her a 10 for a rating. 5 just isn't enough. She is caring and explains everything very carefully and fully.

Very poor experience with Dr. Wherrett! She booked me in for my surgery at Oshawa General. I checked in on time at 10:30 am and was checked in waiting for the OR waiting room. I was called in at 12:30 pm but then sent back out stating Dr. Wherrett wasn't ready for my 1:00 sugery. They made me wait until 2 pm (3hrs wait for surgery) before even getting to the OR waiting room and told me it would be another hour... 4 hours. I have now been without food or deing since 10:30 pm the night before...going on 15hrs and 30 mins and i was asked to wait another hour. When i caused a fuss with the charge nurse they told me that Dr. Wherrett first and second surgery of the day were late so she doesn't even know if she will have time to do my surgery today. They asked me to wait for another hour when i told them to give me my clothes so i can walk out on the "surgery". I called Dr. Wherrett's office and requested a refund for the days parking. What a mess!!!! Why make a patient who shows up ON TIME for her surgery wait 4 hours while late patients get thru. Then tell me she might not have time to complete my surgery because she isn't sure if she will be able to stay overtime to complete it. GARBAGE HOSPITAL AND GARBAGE DOCTOR!!!!

I LOVE Dr. Wherrett!!!! She is personable, always shows me kindness and is approachable ro any concerns I may have. She not only takes the time for my medical concerns, she takes the time to understand me! I cannot say enouhh good things about her and the receptionist!!!! I always have a skip in my step when I go for my yearly check ip at this office!!!
