Dr.Sun is a disgrace of a Dr. I saw her after results from a Pap smear. She walked in & flatly said without emotion.. well you probably know it’s “Cancer” she has zero bedside manner. Zero time for questions. She phoned me & yelled at me for changing oncologists since the one she referred me to in OGh took over 40 days to update a report. I changed to Princess Mgt Hospital where I get excellent care & my report is in my email within an hour. I should have reported her for her unprofessional actions. Run! Do not recommend her.
I have never been so disguisted by a medical professional in my life. I was added to gynecologist Christina Sun's patient list over a year and a half ago and have had appointments to see her in excess of 5 times. Each time complaining about the same issues pressure/pain in my left lower abdomen and pain in my cervix (pain I was reffered to her for by my PCP and have been experiencing for over 3+ years). Each time I saw her she did a physical exam. Aside from a physical exam she refused to order testing (outside of a standardized PAP). My most recent visit was 2 weeks ago as I had experienced 4 menstrual cycles in a 6 week period. After telling her about my sudden onset and out of the norm back to back cycles she said "It must be your birth control." When I refused to change BC's and reminded her of my family history of uterine issues, adenomyosis, and endometriosis, she stated "What do you want me to do?" After what felt like an argument she did an infection swab and sent me on my way (no infection - all clear). I left her office in tears and immedietly went to get a second opinion at a different urgent care location where they ordered bloodwork and ultrasounds. My results have finially come in and I have multiple fibroids in my upper, mid, and lower uterus, a large cyst that has expanded my left ovary, and adenoyosis. I also have TSH and DHEA-S hormonal inbalances. Apparently she is closing her practice at the end of November which is probably for the best considering this reproductive specialist refuses to investigate issues concerning reproductive organs. If you're concerned about your health and aren't looking to change your birth control please look elsewhere.
Dr Sun was my OB with both kids, she was fantastic. I always felt at ease and taken care of when at the office. Highly recommend, she’s very professional.
I had a great experience with Dr. Sun. She is honest and helpful. She is also no nonsense. She tells it like it is and does not sugar coat things- which I like. I want honesty, not friendship.
My experience with Dr. Sun was terrible, and quite disgraceful. I have many congenital illnesses and had developed a gynecological issue in my early thirties. Having a lifetime of surgeries (17) and procedures, multiple specialists in Toronto, who are wonderful; it was so rare for me to have a terrible experience with a specialist. She "shamed" me with very spiteful words. As it turned out, my "issue" was due to my cancer syndrome. I promptly requested a re-referral to a new gynecologist. Thankfully, he was wonderful, kind and compassionate.
Only go here if you want to be told that you may change your mind about being a lesbian or about preferring to one day adopt children instead of having biological children. Go here if you basically want to be put on birth control that doesn't do anything, and then when you complain, told to go back on the same pill.
I was referred because of abnormal pain and a possible hormonal imbalance that's been effecting my quality of life and been very distressing. I'm a grown woman and I left in tears. If you're someone that's had extremely painful menstruation, borderline hemorrhaging, complications from a surgery, or hormonal issues don't go see her. Especially if you've had these issues dismissed by doctors repeatedly and are (understandably) sensitive to that. She was dismissive and combative from the get go and seemed upset that I was wasting her time. From what I could put together from her ranting, waving papers around, and angrily gesturing to the exam table (I'm not kidding) while saying that I "didn't want an exam!" (which I didn't say at any point), if you've had a pap and you're already on a hormonal birth control and not trying to get pregnant than it's normal (or normal enough that you shouldn't be there). She seemed very reactive, but I'm not sure what she was reacting to. I wasn't being demanding or argumentative. At no point was it plainly stated that birth control was the only treatment plan for pcos, endometriosis, or whatever else, but it did seem strongly implied when she kept repeating that "we could talk diagnoses all day" and "you already have an iud" and "I don't know what you're expecting". She also made it clear that she wasn't going to give a second opinion or advise a patient based on a colleague's surgical notes. The whole experience was bizarre and upsetting. I'm so grateful that she wasn't my ob/gyn when I was pregnant. That would've been a nightmare.
I have read many great reviews about Dr Sun and really wanted to give it a shot, but unfortunately months after my referral has been submitted I still have not heard back with an appointment date. I managed to got through and chatted very breifly with her and she noted she is very busy but assured me she would make an appointment the week after but never did. Another month or so has gone by and I'm to the point where I don't care anymore if she does call. I can't even imaging how my future appointments will look even if I get my first appointment anytime in the near future. So disappointing and unprofessional on her part.
She was so kind and easygoing! She was clear with what she was doing and communicated well with me when I had questions and concerns. She was thorough, professional, sanitary and it was all around a very pleasant experience given it was my first examination from a gyno!
She is incredible knowledgeable, professional and i can highly recommend her
