What Is Making This 12 Year Old Sneeze 12,000 Times a Day?

What is the world coming to? According to recent reports, a poor 12-year-old girl from Angleton, Texas has been sneezing approximately 20 times a minute for more than three weeks, for a total of up to 12, 000 sneezes a day.

Hello?? There’s no cure for such a thing?

“Sometimes I wish I could leave my body for a little while so I could watch myself sleep and be at peace because even in my dreams, I sneeze,” Katelyn Thornley, the afflicted, said. “I don’t care what they do, I just want it to stop going on for too long.”

I think it’s safe to say it has already gone on too long. Doctors believe allergies and viruses are not to blame, but can’t figure out what is. The sneezing is reported to only stop when Thornley takes Benadryl and falls asleep, says Fox26.

“I’m constantly in pain with my abdomen, my legs are weak, I can barely eat,” Thornley told reporters.

It’s proposed that the young girls extreme behavior might be being caused by a tic, something that, reportedly, can be treated with medication.

Childbrain.com defines a tic as something that should be considered a part of a behavior disorder spectrum that includes obsessive-compulsive behavior, and ADHD.

But if this isn’t a tic-or a publicity stunt by FOX- someone please fund some research to help this poor soul get some peace. Or, at least get her a contract with Benadryl or Kleenex-there has to be some silver lining.

Good luck, Katelyn.
