How to Help Fight Alzheimer’s This June

Take part in fundraising efforts to end dementia this June 21st.

In addition to celebrating other aspects of your health, June is Alzheimer and Brain Awareness Month across the nation. It’s a time to learn more about the disease and to find out how you can get involved in supporting key areas of research that could change the future of dementia for humanity.

So, just how prevalent is Alzheimer’s?

Some people feel that becoming cloudy in your thinking and developing confusion is just part of growing old. But it isn’t.

Experts say that every 65 seconds someone develops Alzheimer’s disease in the United States.

It’s time to take action! The Alzheimer’s Association is encouraging you to go purple this month. Turn your Facebook purple, wear purple and use the hashtags #ENDALZ or #EndAlzheimers to join the conversation online.

And if you like to volunteer and fundraise, get online and register for The Longest Day, taking place on June 21st, 2018. This campaign allows you to choose an activity of your choice and raise funds during the summer solstice by doing what you like on the day.

Maybe your passion is bowling, cycling or playing cards. Just register with your favorite activity online and get started. You can also donate to a participant online, or to a participant or event.
