Biography

Dr. Thuy Nguyen, B.Sc.(Hons.), ND Naturopathic Doctor Prior to her medical training, Dr. Nguyen earned her Bachelor of Science Honours degree in the Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry with Distinction at the University of Windsor. Dr. Nguyen is a licensed and board-certified Naturopathic Doctor and a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). She is a member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), the Alberta Association of Naturopathic Doctors (AAND), and the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta (CNDA). As a primary healthcare provider, Dr. Nguyen has experience treating a wide variety of medical concerns in hospitals, clinics, and community-based centres. She is passionate about finding the root cause of disease and offering long-term sustainable solutions rather than masking symptoms. Using an evidence-informed approach, Dr. Nguyen provides comprehensive and individualized medical care with an emphasis on prevention and natural therapies to improve patient quality of life. Dr. Nguyen believes empowering through education, cultivating self-awareness, and reconnecting with our environment are important aspects in personal growth and healing (mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically). She is a proponent of integrative medicine and strongly believes that there is a time and place for conventional and naturopathic medicine. Dr. Nguyen offers naturopathic consultations to understand her patients’ current and past medical history, performs physical examinations, and can requisition and interpret laboratory findings (conventional labs and advanced laboratory testing). She uses the following modalities alone or in combination to support her patients’ health: Acupuncture (Western and Eastern), Cupping, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Botanical Medicine, Exercise prescription, Nutritional Medicine, Physical Medicine, Counselling, Intramuscular Injections, Intravenous Therapy, and Minor Surgery.
