I agree with the others on this page who say Dr. Futch is arrogant and uncaring. My husband recently wen to see him for a scheduled follow-up to an endoscopy. He'd been having some discomfort in his abdomen with burning pain. Hadn't been able to eat or drink anything in several days. Dr. Futch's diagnosis was constipation and his recommendation was take Metamucil every morning. He would not listen to anything my husband had to say.

A week later we got him in to see his Primary Care Physician. He voiced the same complaints as before. This doctor scheduled him for a CT scan that same day. The following day we were called to come in again. The news was not good. He was referred to an oncologist the same day who scheduled a biopsy for the following week. Taking it one day at a time.

In the past, I had a better opinion of this doctor but due to his lack of professionalism cannot continue with the same impression as before. Couple months ago, I had an intervention, and unfortunately I never had reliable results on my intervention. This briefly shows how inefficient is Dr. Futch. In other words, I lost my time, my money and put my health under risk.

I was a little apprehensive about Dr. Futch after reading some of the reviews. While he was not oozing with personality, he was neither rude nor arrogant during my consultation. He gave me ample opportunities to ask questions at the consultation and prior to my colonoscopy. I would recommend him!

It took a long time to be seen after I checked in. The staff and Dr Futch were pleasant and very professional. Initially the reviews here concerned me; however I wouldn't hesitate to go back again. In fact, Dr Futch will be doing my colonoscopy.

Dr. Futch has an awful bedside manner. He is arrogant and a know it all. He is knowledgeable of the anatomy, but not the total patient. I requested a sedative for anxiety, he refused. I had a panic attacked during the liver biopsy and was told that he would not proceed until I got my breathing under control. I felt short of be a rape victim. Here I am with gone through the process of getting an IV, undressing, getting blood taken. If it were not for the kindness of the nurse that coached me through the process I don't know what I would have done. At the end of the process, he said I told you what the process would be like. I said the explanation and actual process are different. Dr. Futch said I disagree! Do yourself a favor find another specialist.

Had colonoscopy earlier today, was treated well by both staff and Dr Futch. Dr Futch had very good bedside manner and very knowledgable. I was also given the chance to ask questions prior to my colonoscopy.

Biography

My mother, a career nurse, always encouraged me to enter medicine, but perhaps what really sealed my fate was being named, "Most Likely to Do Something in Science or Medicine" in third grade. I always had an interest in science. My philosophy of care is to listen to your patients and they will tell you what is wrong with them. Talk to them. You'll learn a lot about what is going on. Outside of work, I enjoy tennis (state ranked) and boating/sailing. I also am a student of history.
