Had laparoscopic lithotripsy at St Michael to remove kidney stones. Dr Monica Farcas is punctual, knowledgeable and a good communicator and made the whole experience a breeze. Nothing but good things to report about this doctor. You are in good hands!

I've seen a few urologists for stones over the years and I have never met one as clueless as Dr. Farkas. She isn't up to date with new research at all. Instead, she goes by conventional old wives tales from 50 years ago that seem to get passed down between lazy doctors that don't do their own research. Hands down the most sheepish, lazy, and incompetent doctor I've ever encountered. She clearly doesnt have her patients interests at heart.

Agreeing with the other notes here that having inept admin staff is dangerous for the patients and the doctor needs to address this.

I read the previous notes and noted the delay in response is significant. I must say I know this Urology Dpt for a long time. It is a problem with the Admin Assistant. She is an old lady who is very forgetful kept call me for the same voice msg I left with their office several times although she herself has already dealt with it! The doctor herself is a very nice person and good sense of responsibility. There must be improvement in the Management part of the Dept. The doctors are stressed out on volume of patient and may not be fairly paid / compensated. Talented doctors tends to leave for other hospitals (I am not going to mention the name) after a few years there !

Excellent Doctor, very knowledgeable, very professional and highly skilled urologist. I recently had my PCNL surgery. It was super smooth, she explained each and every step, answered all my questions very politely (both pre and post surgery), highly recommended doctor. Dr Farcas is professional and knowledgeable. The problem is her administrative assistant. The assistant has difficulty understanding simple questions, is obstinately ignorant and arrogant, rarely returns calls and is confused about basic patient facts. She makes herself difficult to understand in turn. This undermines the entire operation. The administration assistant is the gatekeeper and the project manager. When she fails to schedule important procedures the whole effort falls apart. Lives are at stake. It is dangerous to have an inept or overwhelmed administrative assistant/medical secretary.

I had robotic pyeloplasty done. Dr. Farcas is extremely knowledgeable. She communicated everything to me in detail before my surgery. I was experiencing a lot of pain and after the surgery I feel fantastic. I’m very grateful. Thanks to Dr. Farcas and the team at St Michaels.

Referral was sent months ago, and never got called back for an appointment. No one answers her phone during most of the times.

3 requisits were sent to her office. None were received until the 4th. I'm in constant pain and the case is semi-urgent but I was sent to where nothing is available until January 2019. No one answers the phone. Messages are left. Calls left unreturned. I need help I can't stand the pain.
