I had a cystoscopy with Dr. Metcalfe on July 2nd 2024. I was very fearful about it and he knew about this. He was very calming during the process, was understanding about my fear and told me I could tell him to stop at any time if I wanted to. He was gentle as he could be during the process and carefully explained what he was looking at on the screen. After the process, he acknowledged that things went well. Most importantly, he had obviously done a gentle probe and used his fine skills as a surgeon as I had no bleeding at all afterwards and could pee normally immediately after the procedure with no pain at all.

On the gurney up front of the OR at 10:00 pm.
" So you are refusing to sign the stent option. When 4 days later you'll come to IR because with the infection and the IR will call me in the middle of the night because some as... refused the stent are you OK with that?"
" Yes, I am OK with that. "
Other than that I believe that M. J. Metcalfe is a good surgeon.

Lied constantly, unhelpful afterwards, zero aftercare. Better off going to a vet.

I want to thank Dr. Metcalfe for the time he gave me in preparation for my surgery. He spent an hour with me and my family, taking time to answer questions. He explained things clearly and gave us confidence prior to surgery. He communicated well with all the other physicians in my care. He followed up with phone calls to update us on progress. The surgery itself went smooth and I have now recovered and am cancer free.

There aren’t enough words to describe the fabulous attention and care that my husband Derek….loads of investigative procedures…hopefully we have the fix. Office personnel are attentive, helpful, and great listeners. A huge thank you to you Dr Metcalfe…..you are quite amazing….haven't seen the socks though.
