Dr Suri came 33 minutes late and there was no apology for being late. She was not fully prepared for the consultation, in-fact, she was asking me where did I do my X-RAY so she can retrieve my diagnostic images. She was not polite and ver rude in her conversation with the me. I felt very uncomfortable with the entire consultation. The most uncomfortable ever.

I felt it necessary to share my story because I’m shocked at how high her ratings are. I was referred to Dr. Suri by my family doctor after 12 years of suffering with GERD, a hiatal hernia, and stomach ulcers. I was told I needed to have a scope done again with a surgeon who would be able to operate as a last resort. Prior to the scope I was asked to have blood work done and was given 4x the normal dose of Losec to help out while waiting for the scope. By the date of my appt I had been taking the Losec for 8 weeks and stopped the night before to prep. I told her in the OR that the meds weren’t helping and she said “that’s why you’re here to see what’s going on”. Post op I was instructed that my follow up would be in 4 weeks, but because that fell over the holidays, it would be 2 weeks later (understandable). In between that time I had excruciating pain in my sternum and needed to go to Emerg for pain relief, most likely unrelated to the scope, but could definitely be a cause of my current health issues. That pain lasted over a week, I had a number of prescriptions in that time and left a message with Dr. Suri’s receptionist stating the situation. I never heard back from them, so I waited patiently for my follow up. When I spoke to Dr. Suri she informed me that all came back negative and I should continue taking medication. When I tried to discuss further she was very dismissive. I had been looking forward to these tests to try and understand what was going on and what my options were. When I had originally been diagnosed I was a teenager. Now as an adult I’m trying to get to the root cause of my pain, so I can begin the process of healing. She asked if I had been tested for H pylori which is the blood work SHE requested prior to the scope. The results of which I never got and assumed would be sent to her office. Even the simplest of questions as to what type of hiatal hernia I had was answered by “I don’t remember, I didn’t write it down” and that I should just take more medications as there was nothing else she could do. Not even an explanation of why or what she saw that determined that decision. I’ve taken all of the medications available and have never found relief. So, I asked what the differences were between them and what would she recommend. She simply said to take the last one I had been prescribed, again with no reason. I had been taking 80mg of Losec and still waking up in the morning with a burning throat reaching for the TUMS beside my bed. Again I asked about surgery and she informed me that I could be referred to a surgeon if that’s what I wish to do. The sole reason for this scope and my excitement was to speak to a surgeon who I was told she was. I understand that we are all human and have our bad days, but I think my experience is important to say as I was not able to do so in the 10 minute conversation with Dr. Suri. The GERD I suffer with effects my whole life every single day. I’ve gotten so used to the pain and felt such little help from doctors that I have just learnt to live with it these past 12 years. It’s important for doctors to listen to their patients and not make us feel like we have to battle for our health. I would not recommend Dr. Suri to anyone. (Nov 2020)

Dr Suri is a skilled and compassionate surgeon. I recently had half of my thyroid removed due to cancerous nodules. Dr Suri spent a long time with me on my initial appointment explaining my options and discussing the pros and cons involved with surgical procedures for this 80 year old man
The procedure went well. As I am 80 I stayed one night in the hospital and she was there to check on me early the next morning to confirm I was well enough to go home
At My follow up appointment she took a long time talking to me. When she removed my stitches it was almost impossible to see where the incision was

She has subsequently called me 3-4 times to discuss the pathology of my tumours - always with a calm , positive and caring attitude

I highly recommend this wonderful surgeon . I was lucky to have her care for me.

When I was diagnosed with medullary thyroid cancer I was referred to Dr. Suri for thyroid removal surgery. She was so knowlegable, empathetic and compassionate. She put my mind at ease throughout the entire process and always made time or me if I had any concerns or questions. After the surgery I was so impressed with my the look of my incision. The scar is barely noticeable! Very skilled surgeon, I was so lucky to work with her.
Also want to mention her receptionist Sonia.. such a fun lighthearted lady. Very kind and professional always!

I was diagnosed with thyroid and lymph node papillary cancer in December 2020. I did a lot of research on the disease, however I was adamant that I wanted Dr. Megha Suri to perform any procedures. She was a surgeon for my sister in law and when the family met her after that surgery, I was impressed by not only her concern for her patient, but her warmth for the family members waiting patiently (before COVID)

On March 9th, I underwent a total thyroidectomy, left central neck dissection, and left modified radical neck dissection for “metastatic papillary thyroid cancer”. This surgery was lengthy (8 hours I believe). I was very comfortable with my surgery team headed by Dr. M. Suri. The patient care I received was exceptional. Dr. Suri made a point to meet with me every day while I was in the hospital to answer my questions and perform some tests to ensure all was well.

It is post surgery now four weeks later and we are just waiting for all of the pathology reports to come in. Dr. Suri is patient, understanding and will do whatever it takes to ensure that her patients are treated with respect, dignity and are always informed. I have been very fortunate with my physicians and specialists and am extremely happy to add Dr. Suri to this great list.

My mom was referred to Dr.Suri, which I have to say was one of the best things that could have happened.

My mom was diagnosed with a tumor on her thyroid which required surgery. Her initial scheduled surgery date was pushed back due to Covid-19 and then rescheduled in July. Dr. Suri and the staff were very prompt with updates due to the date changes and with Covid-19 being a factor.

Dr. Suri and the staff also understood that there was a language barrier with my mom and reached out to me directly to provide the updates to ensure my mom knew exactly what was going on prior to and post surgery.

Post surgery we had concerns with my mom's wound due to my mom's medical history and Dr. Suri was there in more ways that one can imagine. She was available when I reached out with concerns, outside of regular working hours. She worked around my work schedule as it was very difficult to adjust my hours to be at the appointments with my mom. This was something I could have never expected and was so thankful for. We had the peace of mind with everything involving my mom's surgery and recovery. Our family had a lot more going on outside of my mom's surgery/recovery at that time and words can not explain how thankful and grateful we are. Dr. Suri went above and beyond. My mom is doing amazing now after 7 months. I can't say enough great things about our experience with Dr.Suri and the staff.

After meeting with Dr. Suri and getting a feel for her, we ultimately decided to use a different surgeon, Dr. Rotstein, for my husband's thyroid surgery.

Dr. Suri is a patient, kind and empathetic doctor. Bring diagnosed with thyroid cancer was extremely difficult to digest and she was there every step of the way ensuring that I was physically and mentally ok. It’s been about 4 weeks since my surgery and my scar is barely noticeable. Her stitch work is excellent! Dr. Suri is always professional and I would highly recommend her.
