Dr. Kiriakidou is very smart and compassionate. She is straightforward and will answer all your questions. I completely trust her. If she runs late, it’s because she spends so much time with her patients.

The best rheumatologist in Philly. I have lupus, mixed connective tissue disease, raynauds phenomenon, etc. Attentive care prevented my kidneys from failing at 35 years old. She prescribed meds that reduced my raynauds and lupus symptoms drastically. I'd recommend any fellow lupie.

This doctor sent patient for blood work 30 days apart. On the 2nd appt this doctor was more than TWO and A HALF HOURS LATE for a 9:30 am appt. Both tests revealed unusually high inflammation levels in the body.according to the doctor. However, this doctor said she would not test a 26 year old for causes of the unusually high inflammation. Instead she said some people have high levels of inflammation in the body. How would she know that this 26 yr old falls into that category if she does not test for lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, & other causes of high inflammation. When I call to and asked this question she didn't have the professionalism to respond. Instead she had her nurse call 3 times to finally say make another appt for which she wanted to set for 7 months later. In the meantime PT stopped working with the patient because they say there's something more serious wrong with the patient that PT won't help. The 26 year old is in constant pain, and gets constant bruising. She can't even bend down but this doctor does not seem to care enough to test for causes of the inflammation. Suppose this patient has lupus or something else she can be treated for. This doctor does not care enough to test a young patient for these things. She suggest yet more PT yet we have tried that 3 times and each PT stopped service because PT is not the issue. All of this is known to Dr Kiriakidou but she still won't test to rule out causes of the inflammation.

I have been seeing Dr. Kiriakidou since 2005, I gave up all of my other doctors and followed her from Penn to Jefferson recently, she is that good. Dr. Kiriakidou is very caring and listens to her patients, she is very good at diagnostics, and has always been proactive with my treatment. When I was in a crisis condition, she was able to modify her schedule to give me an appointment. I know she has seen other doctor's patients during her lunch hour because they were late due to a personal emergency and their doctor had left. I have never left her office with unanswered questions, or confusion about the go-forward plan and things to watch for. At Jefferson, the front office staff are about the same as Penn, but the Rheumatology Nurse is much better about responding. Dr. Kiriakidou also works very well with my other specialists and primary care physicians. She is a wonderful person, and I highly recommend her.

For the SECOND TIME central scheduling at Jefferson told us an appointment time that was different than what the doctor's office had when we got there. The staff insisted we were late. My husband is very sick, and is desperately trying to get a diagnosis. He pins his hope on his doctor's appointments. They give him the strength to go on day to day. Your can imagine how shattering it was when the doctor REFUSED TO SEE US, after we had to argue had with the VERY NASTY receptionist to even get them to ask her. What kind of doctor would do that to a sick, suffering man who trusted her to help him? It was not our fault that they screwed up the appointment. WE WERE ON TIME, and would have waited as long as necessary until she could squeeze us in. She just didn't care. The icing on the cake was the unbelievably nasty receptionist who accused us of lying and being mentally ill, the most uncaring, obnoxious person I ever met in a health care setting. Ended by THROWING US OUT OF THE OFFICE.
