My family and I are extremely grateful to have found Dr Connery. Until recently our children had only needed check ups and were never sick enough to need to be seen. I had found it remarkable that this doctor took as much time to speak to us and answer our questions, we joked that if we had taken more time we would have to pay rent. What really impressed us recently was when we were worried about our daughter's fever, he not only called us back in 2 minutes, but he told us that the ER was backed up and he would open up the office on a SUNDAY! He was able to treat her and she was good enough to go to school the next day. I will admit he is a bit passionate about his work, and can appear a know it all, but at the same time, how many doctors know enough about Disney princesses to make a 5 year old girl get over her fears.

Thank goodness we found Dr. Connery! My daughter is timid around new folks and he made her feel right at home. Her first visit included him playing a game with her - she warmed up quick. As soon as she sniffles or coughs she is asking me, "Can we go to Dr. Connery's office". Everytime I have been in their waiting room, I am only there at most 5 minutes. The clinic runs like clockwork which is much appreciated with my busy schedule. He is NOT your traditional 'doc in a box' - my children adore his clinic, his staff, and Dr. Connery.

We gave been seeing Dr.Connery at his own Brickyard Pediatrics office for about a tear now. He has been wonderful. If your looking for a doctor who will just medicate to medocate he is not the dr. For you. with concerns about over use of antibiotics i appreciate his caution. I think everyone firgets thay Evwryone is human. I have never had a negative experience. I've never waited more than five minutes. Can get in same day usually if my son is ill. Dr. Connery is funny and spends individual time with me and my son. Today he played on my sons Ds...another day he did a face symmetry ap on his IPad with my son...I have been very pleased. I highly recoomend him and his staff.

I just left Dr.Connory's office & am absolutely disgusted with our experience. First the girls at the window entered my insurance information incorrectly & told me that my insurance was not valid. I had to call my insurance company & hand my cell phone to the receptionist for them to figure out the error (which was on Brickyard ped. behalf) After an extra 45 min the waiting room my son & I were calked back. Dr.Connory came across very disheveled & pompous. He was coughing & touching my son before sanitizing his hands. I will definitely be finding another pediatrician. I am a registered nurse & take care of people every day, leaving this office I felt we received the bare minimum of care.

I cannot believe the other posts about this doctor. I have been taking my infant granddaughter to see him for a year now...this doctor is amazing, has the most gentlest bedside manner, is kind to everyone, on time, takes his time with patients...nothing like these people have described here..makes me wonder if they have the wrong Dr Marc Connery? Brickyard Pediatrics is where this doctor is now, across from St Mary's Hospital in Hobart, Indiana. I even take my 17 year old daughter to see him. He's excellent and you won't be disappointed. Don't believe the other people, check him out for yourself!

I took my children to Dr. Connery for three years (left his practice in 2007). He was crabby and rude. I thought he was knowledgeable but he made mistakes in the care of both of my children. I understand that doctors make mistakes, but he was so arrogant. He told me my daughter could not be having seizures even when I brought up possible seizure activity repeatedly. Turns out she was and she does have epilepsy. He also told me my son's horrible leg pain was nothing but growing pains. Turns out he was wrong there too. He also bullied me into having my premature twins vaccinated too early. I wanted to delay the vax's and s/h stood up for my children. Instead he did not even vax according to their adjusted age as the CDC recommends. He made mistakes and I made the mistake of being uninformed and giving in too easily when I disagreed with him.

I used to take my kids to him and I thought he was ok but did not seem to have a good bedside manner with them, especially my 6 yr old daughter. He just teased her past a funny point to where it became almost cruel. he was also alittle arrogant but many doctors are.

I can't believe the other comment that he is great with children. HE IS HORRIBLE!!! I just got back from taking my son there and he was VERY stern with him and actually left the appointment to see another patient because my son wouldn't cooperate, since the nurse gave him the finger prick before he came in and he was scared of getting the other shots. He kept telling him to LISTEN and BEHAVE and told me to control him!!! I then heard him go into the patients room next to me and say something about slapping him around in a joking manner, how unprofessional! He is NEVER running on time and has been rude in the past. The only reason I came back was because I couldn't get a late notice appointment with my new pediatrician before we went out of town. UNBELIEVABLE, my son and I both left in tears. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE bedside manner, especially since my son is only 5!

Biography

Dr. Marc Connery, an Illiana native who remembers going to Sauzer’s Kiddieland in Scherillville and watching Channel 32 advertising drag races on Sunday, Sunday, Sunday at the U.S. 30 Drag strip in Hobart. After experiencing what the Big Ten had to offer at the University of Illinois – Urbana, Dr. Connery received a bachelor’s degree in Physiology. With a mind to enter primary care he attended the Rockford campus of the University of Illinois, world renowned for its focus on preventative care and family medicine. From there he completed his pediatric residency and subsequently attained Board Certification in Pediatrics. Eventually settling down in Hobart, he has participated in regional healthcare including acting as the pediatric medical director at Saint Mary’s. Following the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Connery emphasizes preventive care and evidence-based medicine while not neglecting the personal touch. Described as a kid himself, he still surprises the children with his knowledge of comic books, Disney cartoons, and the occasional sleight of hand and mimicry. After spending eleven years as a physician in big, multi-specialty groups, though some have called him crazy, he has set out to show that a single practitioner can still provide good personalized care in this age of Doc-In-A-Box and walk-in clinics.
