I had a triple bypass surgery at age 35 (in 1978) and a quadruple bypass in 1990 - both by Dr. Bedard. I am celebrating my 80th birthday today thanks to Dr. Bedard who literally saved my life twice! He is retired now but I will never forget the kindness and wonderful care by Dr. Bedard, his staff and the staff of the Ottawa Heart Institute. I only wish I could call him today and let him know how I'm doing and what an outstanding doctor he truly is!! Dr Bedard is a cardiac surgeon at the Ottawa Heart Institute. I had emergency CABG after a heart attack and he did the surgery and literally saved my life. As with most surgeons in a hospital setting he relies on interns for after care who may or may not be what one would hope, but, in his post surgery aftercare clinic, he took the time to answer all my concerns about the effects of the surgery. His overnight surgery on me healed up perfectly with no problems. Very talented surgeon.

Dr. Bedard did a triple by-pass on my mother and really looked after her as well as all the staff at the staff at the hospital.He is a very good surgeon and takes time with his patients and their family. Thank you, I will have my mom for many more years now.
