After reading these reviews I was apprehensive about seeing Dr. Campbell. The past few years have brought a significant amount of grief, upheaval & unbearable pain to my life and in all honesty I was feeling fragile & vulnerable to the wrong kind of help. I, however, found Dr. Campbell to be very helpful; kind, understanding, knowledgeable & not at all what I expected. From my experience with her, she is insightful, intelligent & honest. She was extremely helpful. I was even apprehensive about seeing a Psychiatrist at all due to the stigmatism but I have to say I am glad that I did. I appreciated her feedback & observations and am happy to have found her.

I believe this woman is dangerous. Two years after seeing her four times I feel traumatized and infuriated by her This is not hyperbole, In my opinion she has sociopathic traits. She showed No empathy but what seemed like contempt. Her words seem rehearsed, and did not match her actions. She wrote things on my chart that were false, no gray area, they were not true. I swear she had her opinion of me made by the first visit, and everything else I said or did was viewed in a way to validate the conclusion she'd arrived at the first time she saw me. I've had Doctors and psychiatrists who made mistakes, who've had bad days, it happens. She is the only one about whom I'd say "stay away, no matter how desperate you are for help actually, *especially* if you are desperate, no matter how long the waiting list is for a different clinician, do NOT see this woman, even her staff are impatient and snotty.

I'm so glad I found this site! I feel sad that I'm not the only one that went through this with dr. campbell, but at least i wasn't imagining this. This woman spent a total of 50 minutes with me, the week i found out my estranged sister had passed away. I was understandably upset about that, but smiling through my tears remained optimistic about my future plans, etc. Within less than 50 minutes i had been diagnosed with a mental disorder and she refused to see me unless i went on drugs. Her exact words to me were "talk therapy won't help enough. I'm a psychiatrist" as if all she was there to do was to prescribe drugs!! The heartache and confusion i suffered as a result of her snap judgement (which didn't even mention my sister's death in the report!) was not ok. This woman needs to realize that circumstances will reflect a patient's mood, so 50 minutes is NOT enough to diagnose someone! I will never ever see this woman again. I think she needs schooling in how to diagnose properly.

Oh my God, I want to cry. I saw this woman in 2002 for a diagnosis and she had a profoundly negative effect on my life. It was a nightmare. This ws long before internet ratings. I struggled all these years wondering if she was really as bad as I thought OR if I was really as bad as she thought. Mean and I think very unqualified.

Seeing her was the worst mistake I made during a hellish period in my life. Avoid this Doctor. My experience is echoed in most of the posts here. I found her chillingly cold, though her words were kind. She said "Well get through this together" and turfed me after two sessions, when I asked my G.P why, (I had never been rude or aggressive either) He gave me one reason which was absolutely untrue And another which was one sided. As someone with a psych history, I don't expect my word to be taken over hers. She must be aware of this, and in this context her misleading comments were cruel. She needs to cop to her own issues.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Do not go see this doctor. She is horrible. I just opened up in tears and told her that I watched my Mother die of cancer at the age of 62. (in my arms at that) I told her I hate being alive, hate my family friends life including this appointment and her. Not her personally, of course. Im just in pain. But, she terminated the interview right away. Saying that I rebook when Im in a better place..WHAT! That's why I'm at a phyciatrist's office. To let it all out..No? She called my GP asap and told her it was obvious that she wasn't going to 'get' anywhere with me today. I thought it was her job. Must be nice to 'judge' someone and get paid for it. I was broken hearted when I went in. In shock when I left. If you are suicidal do not go see this woman..you will jump for sure. Terrible experience!!!! I hope my mother looks down on her and sends a 'get a free ass whoopin' card from every one in Heaven. pffft.

I am very surprised by the comments below. Dr Campbell is the most amazing psychiatrist I have seen. Unlike many psychiatrists who merely focus on medication, Dr Campbell offers a warm environment in which other concerns and accomplishments can be discussed. She takes time to fully get to know the patient and perhaps the patient's family and presents options. Dr Campbell is non judgemental and tries hard to work with the patient's needs while also making sure that the most help is given. Dr Campbell took time to understand my history, made an accurate diagnosis and worked with me to find the best medication combination while also providing me with additional resources in the community. Anyone would be lucky to have her as their psychiatrist.

I'm so glad I finally found this site and was able to read up on her. She is in dire need of psychiatric evaluation herself! All everyone else wrote is so true. She is insensitive, doesn't really listen to your problems and is a major pill pusher. Her social skills are non-existent and I do truly believe I was better off before I went to see her. Her receiption staff is equally cold and uncaring. P.S. She cancelled on me 3 times in a row ... really "concerned" about the well-being of her patients, right? What a joke. Don't bother with her. She may be all "brains" - but that's about it.
