Stay as far away from this dr as possible. Unprofessional, rude and dismissive. Every apt is extremely late and then he rushes you out without good information or any sense that you have been cared for.

Could some who had a negative experience please complain to the College of Physicians and Surgeons? I came on her looking for an OB and was looking for recommendations and came accross all of these horrific reviews (except 2 which were in the complete opposite direction).
This doctor should not have a license and should be banned based on these comments.
But a complaint needs to be made on his behalf for anything to change. I never saw this doctor so I cant comment on him. But I do think someone who had a strong negative experience should email them to protect future oregnant women or women in labour.

I headed to this site to leave a comment because I was impressed with this Dr...he was very accommodating, helpful, and concerned about my issues...however when I read the comments here about them I couldn't help but think he has been a victim of sexism, I believe the care he provided would not be perceived as this way if he was a female doc....too many 20 somethings looking for a reason to be upset and or victimized! Grow up and recognize and doctors are matter of fact about explaining things and performing procedures because they have to do then properly...he is not doing them or explaining the risks to be perverse or upsetting....holy....I found his care comprehensive, compassionate, and matter of fact about the facts in which I needed to know about.

I had the worst experience with Doctor Newton. I won't even give him a single star if I could. I went to the clinic to have an ultrasound and found out that I was having a miscarriage. Dr. Newton asked me why I only decided to try to get pregnant at my age. He told me that I was too old to get pregnant and that my eggs are too old and my husband's sperm is also too old. I was 36 years old and my husband was 44. Very rude and insensitive. I was crying when I left the clinic. I will never have another appointment with him ever again.

I was referred to Dr. Newton by my family doctor as I had still been spotting 6 weeks after taking misoprostol to induce my miscarriage. He thought I might have retained materials of conception.

Dr. Newton was incredibly insensitive. He dismissed my family doctors referral as an over reaction. He asked if I had questions but then responded in a condescending manner. I had brought my previous ultrasound and bloodwork paperwork. As I was explaining my medical history he was interruptive and dismissive.

I told my family doctor of the appointment and will not be returning to Dr.Newton

Dr.Newton was insanely unprofessional and completely rude. I came in for an ultra sound, and didn't know how far along I was. There was no heart beat, and he told me so rudely and without a care, "you'll most likely be having a miscarriage so be prepared to bleed a lot". I left that room crying, and felt so hopeless. He took advantage of the fact that I was young. I didn't have a miscarriage, and I went back two weeks later and had a healthy heart beat. He also told me to go on a starvation diet. I ended up having a c section, because his reaction was to just do surgery right away. He was so rude and took his time. Always late for his appointments. I honestly had the worst experience with this guy. He shoves his fingers in me to see how dilated I was, without telling me what he was doing. He laughed the whole time when I said it hurt. Thinking about my experience with him, makes me want to cry.

I advise seeing someone else. I had a total of 4 appointments with this man and each time he was 2 HOURS late. He also had me convinced that my pregnancy was tubal and told me I was "too young" to die. Needless to say I left that appointment balling my eyes out. I have never felt so much anxiety than I did In this doctors office. I recommend everyone to do some research before going there.

I was referred to Dr. Newton at Sound Care Medical Clinic because of prolonged and heavy menstrual periods. I had a pelvic ultrasound done by my family doc who said I had a "bulky uterus" and referred me to a gynecologist. Dr. Newton met me for the first time, took some information and then said he would do a biopsy right then. I commented that I was currently bleeding just so that he was aware, to which he made a sarcastic remark about cancelling the appointment, basically just to make fun of the fact that I mentioned something that is very common place to him. I responded that he might be used to it, but I certainly wasn't. Throughout the procedure I found him to be dismissive and insensitive. My cervix has to be dilated which was very uncomfortable, and he actually asked me if I "was sure" that I had had a vaginal delivery before which I had told him when he asked me how many kids I had and if they were delivered by c-section or not. Also, even though he asked me often if I was okay, when I would respond that yes I was okay he would quip "good girl" as if I was a bloody dog. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I am asking to see someone else because this guy is a complete dick. Don't put yourself through the aggravation (at best) and humiliation (at worst which is what I have read from some other reviews). STAY AWAY.

Horrible experience. Each visit is about 1.5 hours late. I actually sat in the waiting room listening to him chat with staff about this and that. And twice another staff came to him and urged him to "get moving" and start seeing patients. Unbelievable.

I saw Dr. Newton several times when I was experiencing difficulty getting pregnant. I am a woman in my late twenties and am in a stable loving relationship and he passed judgement on my situation and told me my partner was clearly not interested in having children because he was not at the appointment and not done his own 'investigative work' by having a sperm test. He booked me in for a saline infusion where myself and my partner were told that I had blocked fallopian tubes (this procedure was performed by another doctor). During my follow-up appointment, Dr. Newton told me the blockage was probably caused by me and that I must have had an STD infection in the past. I go for regular PAP tests, and have never had an STD. He refused to refer me to the fertility clinic until my partner did a sperm test and told me I needed a surgery to remove a polyp before anything could be done. I became emotional when he told me I wouldn't be looking at a referral to the fertility clinic for 'at least a year'. He told me to 'get used to it, we live in Canada' . I visited my family doctor after my appointment who immediately referred me to the fertility clinic. The fertility clinic called me within two weeks and in less than a year, I had my surgery, went through two rounds of IVF and am pregnant. I would never go to Dr. Newton again and feel his bedside manner was extremely rude and condescending.
