I saw this doctor and it went good but I.need surgery I called today to find out details and to inquire about dates and office staff marina screamed at me ,she didn't give me any chances to talk .I'm really upset about this .she talked at me for 15 minites without a break on a on repeating giving me trouble for calling
what do I do now then. the staff treats us like garbage .not happy

Dr. Akagami phoned me with my MRI results for 9:00 today and he was two minutes early with good news. My tumour hadn't grown any since last year. He'll set up another MRI for next spring.

Why a patient from Ontario who had a tumor under 2 cm could get her operation in 9 months, but BC patient with bigger tumor waited 10 months and still have no date. And also why they was allowed to travel for elective surgery during pandemic????

Fall 2019 our life changed with hearing- he has a brain tumour at the base of his skull. I felt hopeful from the moment we first met Marina, knowing that she would ensure we had all the particulars complete that was needed to allow us the miracle of Dr. Akagami's hands and skills. She continues today ensuring that we have all the information needed to continue with my husbands care. Marina is caring, compassionate and dedicated to each and every person she works to support with either of her physicians. I see her passion, service and care as an extension of the care you will receive from Dr. Akagami. They make a great team. We say a prayer of gratitude each and every day for Dr. Akagami and Dr. Dong. The 12 hour surgery that could have resulted in serious life changes did not come to pass. My husband is sitting here with me today strong, healthy and full of life. If you did not know his story you would have no idea how close he was to a life less lived, if lived at all. Unbelievable! Their staff doesn't treat people as humans. Especially their receptionist is extremely rude and careless. I've called several times and left multiple voice mails regarding my mothers appointment for her condition. They don't have the slightest decency to return my calls. The receptionist should be fired!

Dr. Akagami and Dr Westerberg was my team in 2017 for a left partial labyrinthinectomy petrous apicectomy for tumour resection of my left medial tentorial/anterior cerebellopontine meningioma. Dr. A is top in his field for skull base tumors, one of the best in North America. I had a 11 hour surgery and straight up i have deficits from surgery but,,, all mobility is intack. He even said that 8 years prior he wouldn't have even tried my surgery, only with technology advances that it was even possible. The many neuro specialist I see have always in awed at my MRI images saying how amazing of a job Dr. Akagami did, this is a high compliment. There is always many approaches to the surgery since it really is a surgeons choice, but with Dr. A I liked that he was always about not being a cowboy and considering risk factors. Here is a very interested my recovery and show me the same respect back. I am proud to have him on my team of specialist.
