Dr. Donna Smith is the best. She fixed my wrist fracture in 2003 with a plate and 'nails' (word censors won't take the real word!); it healed perfectly and to this day other doctors are surprised I have never had any problems, such as arthritis, with it. Very nice too. I made the stupid mistake of having coffee the morning of my surgery and when she found that out...first it was 'and what was there about the instructions not to drink or eat anything after midnight didn't you understand'. Ha ha. I was crushed...but it was stupid and fouled her schedule up. As soon as she realized I felt bad about being so stupid she immediately reassured me not to worry, she would take another patient and I could go later. That totally endeared me to her. She was so nice and always reasssuring and positive. Great surgeon and human being. Will also point out...I happen to know she was one of the doctors who went to Haiti after their devastating earthquake a few years ago to help treat the victims of that quake having to work in army tent conditions. I just can't say enough about her.

It is the best doctor that you can get. She did two Capetian tunnel in my two hand and I felt great from there, it was five years ago. Moreover, I couldn't get on time for the surgery because the traffic but she move my surgery to the end of the day.

When I went in to see her for a thumb injury, she said it would heal by itself and started taping it up to help the swelling go down. Then she noticed a deformity on my wrist and said that I should have it removed. I said it was a congenital deformity and I'd had it over 50 years and it didn't cause me a problem. She ignored this and said that she would really like to get in there and fix it because it would be a challenge for her. Again, I said it wasn't a problem and I wasn't interested in surgery. Her final comment to me was that the wrist deformity could cause problems for my thumb injury and I should reconsider surgery, and suggested I make an appointment for two weeks later. I didn't. Thumb healed. No problem with the wrist. Not interested in the patient; more interested in doing 'challenging' surgeries, even if unnecessary

Nothing but a very positive experience with Dr. Smith. She's direct and to the point - qualities that I appreciate. Also, more than anything, she is doing the best to ensure the best procedures are taken to ensure I will have good ROM and use of my arm again. She has helped diagnose a problem in less than a month - a problem that takes most patients an average of 5 years to get an accurate diagnosis on. For this I'm utterly grateful because since we're getting it early, there's a good chance I'll be back to normal. She is really great.

Extreamely competent. Possibly the best bedside manner I have ever seen. You can't help but feel she will make sure you have the best outcome possible. Though she is able to give bad news when she has too.

Artificially sincere. Heard her talking behind another patients back. Operated on my hand and it never has worked right since
